This former shepherd’s cottage is found in the heart of the Scottish Borders, surrounded by rolling countryside, just a short drive from Kielder Forest. The interiors are modern with a touch of rustic charm, creating a cosy and comfortable space that feels just like home. There is a patio for enjoying fair weather, and if you’d prefer to explore on two wheels, cycle storage is available on the premises.

The first room of the abode is the living area, where you’ll find soft leather sofas for kicking back with a dram of complimentary whisky and a wood-burning stove for keeping toasty on a chilly day. Roku streaming is available if you’re keen to catch up on the latest series during your stay. The dining room is also warmed by a wood burner, encouraging lively dinners that last well into the night. From here, you’ll enter the bright kitchen equipped with all the essential appliances – including a Nespresso coffee machine. A bathroom with a shower over a bath completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, two bedrooms await. The first is a luxurious twin room, where beds can be converted into a super-king size double upon request, and the second comprises a king size double. All mattresses ensure a soundless night’s sleep and tea and coffee-making facilities are available in each bedroom so you can enjoy a cuppa as soon as you wake up.

Spend warm afternoons on the furnished patio soaking up the sights and sounds of the unspoilt landscape. After a round of refreshments, take the 15-minute car ride to Kielder Waterside Park for some invigorating watersports or outdoor pursuits. When dusk falls, nip over to Kielder Observatory and watch the stars appear. For small supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and cafes, make a beeline for charming Newcastleton, around 15 minutes away.
