The detail

Set on the top of a hill on the edge of the Peak District with spectacular views over Derbyshire’s rolling countryside, this luxurious cabin provides a peaceful escape for two. Wake up to the peace and quiet and enjoy the breathtaking sunrises while tucking into breakfast outdoors. Head out to explore the trails of the Peak District, discover the grandeur of Chatsworth House or stroll through the nearby market towns. Head back to the cabin for a relaxing dip in the bath out on the deck as you sip a glass of something and soak up the scenery.

You’ll find the cabin tucked away amongst wildflowers and blossom trees in its own meadow with uninterrupted views from its private deck. Inside, you’ll find a calming space, furnished with a focus on natural tones and materials, helping you connect with your surroundings. There’s a sumptuous king size bed where you can snuggle up and enjoy the view through large glass doors.

During the cooler months, sheep’s wool insulation and underfloor heating will keep you cosy, while during the summer you can open up the doors to let in the fresh countryside air. There’s a bathroom where you’ll find a flushing toilet and a shower with soft towels and botanical toiletries waiting for you. You’ll also find a welcome hamper on your arrival full of locally sourced essentials to get you started.

The deck is the perfect spot to enjoy an alfresco meal on a sunny day or you might fancy curling up with a book in the hammock. There are even some binoculars in the cabin so you can sit out watching birds of prey glide overhead or swallows swooping through the skies in the spring. You might even spot badgers making their way across the fields later in the day. You can stay out late into the evening gathered around the firepit, watching the sunset over the countryside as you toast marshmallows. You can also do a spot of stargazing from the comfort of the outdoor bath, sunk into the deck.

Head out to do a bit of exploring and you’ll find plenty to do whether you prefer outdoor activities, sightseeing or a bit of shopping. There are footpaths that lead into Derbyshire’s countryside right from the front door or you could venture along the Monsal Trail and discover some of the Peak District’s stunning limestone dales. There are charming market towns nearby, such as Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton with independent shops and plenty of great pubs and restaurants. For a bit of culture, there are several stately homes and gardens within half an hour’s drive, including the spectacular Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Tissington Hall.
