Talton House is a lovely Grade II listed Queen Anne house that oozes history and charm. Sitting within beautiful gardens, complete with a large ornamental pond, tennis court, and hot tub, the house can sleep up to 23 people. A luxurious nine bedroom country home, Talton House has a large hall, drawing room, garden room bar, dining room and a snug sitting room complete with a projector and screen.
The festival like site of Talton Lodge sits within an Victorian garden and fruit orchard. Along with the converted 18th Century barn, there is also a tree boathouse, orchard wagon, two Mongolian yurts, and a North American tipi making up the quirky sleeping options. All have their own unique style and are warm and comfortable whatever the weather.
The open plan barn has been updated for 21st Century living whilst still retaining its high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. Many original features are retained and reused such as managers for sinks, stable partitions for walls and bricks for the bar. The large wood burning stove adds appeal and warmth alongside sofa’s and a dining table for up to twelve people, WiFi and HD projector. Upstairs there is a shared sleeping area for up to eight with a mix of doubles and singles, two toilets and a freestanding bath and shower.
Back in the kitchen garden are several communal areas. This includes the giant hat tipis with sofas, benches, tables, and large indoor chiminea fire. The cedar pavilion has a basic kitchen and three wet rooms with toilets and hot showers. With the area holding up to 120 guests for an event, the licensed veranda bar and pergola terrace are also very useful, as is the kitchen shed with large sink, dishwasher, and fridge.
Keeping everyone entertained couldn't be easier, either, with activities from croquet to wine tasting, canoeing to sausage making, all available on site. There is also the potential to bring in outside companies for yoga, clay pigeon shooting, murder mystery, or whatever those staying can think of.
Talton House and Lodge sit in Shakespeare country, on the edge of the Cotswolds and just one hour from Birmingham and two from Central London. Guests who want to venture out will be pleased to know that there's plenty to do in the local area. Local tourist hot spots include the impressive Warwick Castle, Kiftsgate Court Gardens, Hidcote, Compton Verney, Chipping Campden as well as Stratford itself.
