The perfect romantic retreat nestled into the magical Lake District landscape, with access to a luxury pool, spa and extensive gardens.
This romantic bolt hole has its humble roots nestled in that of a traditional Lakeland shepherd’s bothy - however, designer interiors and chic styling ensure that it’s a rather luxurious interpretation. Situated on the exclusive Mirefoot site, you’ll be staying in one of its five sublime cottages. With three acres of established gardens and an arboretum, it’s perfect for romantic evening strolls. And an opulent on-site pool and lavish spa, shared with a maximum of 14 other guests, means that you can treat yourself to some serious relaxation.
The open-plan living and kitchen area is stylishly put together. The lounge boasts a sumptuous sofa, feature coffee table and a modern wood burning stove. And blankets and sheepskins keep the space delightfully intimate.
The bespoke farmhouse kitchen is beautiful - with soft green units, butler sink and statement worksurfaces. You’ll also be pleased to discover that the kitchen is also very well equipped - with everything from an ice-cream maker to a blow-torch! A place where you can indulge your culinary creativity to impress the one you love. Although, if cooking isn’t your strong point then you can always indulge in some private dining with Mirefoot’s own personal chef.
Downstairs there is also a gorgeous glass summer room that leads out onto a private terrace - the ideal spot for a romantic supper.
Upstairs is a charming double bedroom with a nod to the rustic with its beautiful wooden feature wall and handmade side tables. And the crisp white linen and dusky pink textiles sit beautifully next to the pale wooden floors. The element of romance moves up a notch as you head out to your own private covered balcony up amongst the treetops.
In the ensuite bathroom you’ll find the glorious mix of exposed brickwork and wooden beams - with a luxuriously large bath at its centre. There’s also a further gorgeous shower room downstairs.
The onsite facilities at Mirefoot are utterly ravishing too - with three acres of established gardens, an arboretum and an indoor pool. The gardens have been nurtured for the last thirty years and are quite simply delightful - with many rare plant species and fabulous bird life. The indoor pool is truly stunning - with stone floors, underfloor heating, a large jacuzzi, sauna, gym and treatment room.
The local area is glorious with walks and cycle routes straight from the door. If you want to update your hiking gear then the pretty town of Ambleside with its outdoor stores, cafes and pubs is just 25 minutes up the road. And plenty of fine dining options and splendid views can be found at nearby Lake Windermere. The perfect place to head for that special romantic dinner.
