Nestled on a peaceful hillside in the spectacular Lakeland countryside, Shepherds Rock offers groups of up to seven guests a truly idyllic place to stay. The home was originally built in 1914 and has been lovingly renovated and restored to create a secluded retreat that combines modern luxury and comfort with timeless charm.
The social heart of the home is the big and beautiful kitchen dining room. This open-plan space also features a nice seating area with a log-burner, so you can sit and unwind whilst your designated chef whips up a feast in the modern kitchen. The kitchen itself is high-spec and a dream for any home cook. You’ve got an induction hob, an oven and everything else you might need to prepare a delicious feast during your stay. When dinner’s ready, you and your loved ones can gather around the large dining table that is ideal for hearty lunches or grand feasts.
Patio doors flood this room with natural light revealing amazing country views, and in summer you can open them up and step directly out onto the patio.
After dinner, head into the comfy and spacious lounge with huge sofas where you can unwind with an evening drink or get comfy with your first coffee of the day. For added comfort, the living room also offers another log burner and a projector, perfect for family movie nights! Additional patio doors here ensure you can enjoy the natural beauty from the comfort of indoors. If you fancy getting away from the rest of your group for a moment of peace then you can head to the cosy snug that is next to the living room.
Shepherds Rock offers four beautiful and calming bedrooms, each thoughtfully designed for a restful stay. The master bedroom is a luxurious king size room complete with an ensuite shower room, offering both privacy and comfort. Then you have a second king size bedroom, a double room and a cosy single that’s perfect for children or solo travellers.
You also have two stylishly designed bathrooms at your disposal (not including the master bedroom’s ensuite), each featuring carefully selected tiling and fittings that blend modern comfort with classic character. The family bathroom upstairs is a delightful space with a grand, free-standing bathtub for indulgent soaks before bed.
