Tucked away in the picturesque countryside of Shropshire on the outskirts of the quiet village of Ryton, Pigeon Door offers a peaceful glamping experience in some quirky accommodation. Betsy Blue, Billie Blue and Beetie Bus are all double-decker buses, carefully converted into accommodation that’s perfect for couples or families looking for a unique, rural getaway. Wake up on the top deck of your bus and enjoy the lovely views over the surrounding fields. Head out to explore or go for a dip in your private hot tub and while away a sunny day in the garden.
The bright and bold Betsy Blue is a 1981 Leyland Atlantean that now provides comfy accommodation for up to five guests. Hop on board and you’ll find a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you’ll need to rustle up the family favourites and lovely views through the large bus windows. At the back of the bus, there’s a cosy living area with wrap-around seating that doubles as dining space. Head up the stairs to find the three bedrooms, all heated to keep you toasty at night. There’s a double room, a single and a bunk bed that’s perfect for the kids. There’s a separate bathroom with a shower and even a bit of extra storage space.
Billie Blue and Beetie Bus are slightly larger with room for two double bedrooms and a bunk room in each. They both have their own wet rooms on board and fluffy towels will be provided for everyone. All of the buses have their own private gardens with some outdoor furniture so you can enjoy your meals in the sunshine. This is where you’ll find your private hot tub, ready to relax in at the end of a day exploring the local area. There’s also a large fenced field beyond the gardens, perfect for outdoor games or for letting the dogs have a run around.
The buses are located next door to Berriewood Stables which offers trekking breaks and your horse is welcome to join you and graze in the fenced paddock next to each bus. You can also explore the surrounding countryside on foot, with trails nearby or you can head into the Shropshire Hills. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the historic town of Shrewsbury and wander through the medieval streets to the striking red sandstone castle and the beautiful abbey.
