Pheasants Retreat is all about peace and tranquillity. Guests can relax indoors by the wood burner, enjoy an evening tipple by the outdoor fire, or even soak their cares away in the hot tub while listening to the relaxing sounds of crickets in the evening. And with its location near the likes of Chester, Snowdonia, and a host of beaches, it provides the perfect base from which to explore some of the UK's most beautiful countryside. Sleeping a maximum of two guests, this truly is the ideal rustic couple's retreat.
Sitting under vaulted ceilings, Pheasants Retreat has been lovingly and meticulously decorated by the owners to create a welcoming and homely air. The living area lies beneath exposed timber beams and two leather couches and an armchair are orientated around the flat screen TV and cosy wood burner. Just behind the living area is the two-person dining table. Ascend a few steps to enter the fully equipped, modern kitchen. Through from here, you will find the tranquil reading room, while there is also a modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a bath. Lastly, there's the bedroom - boasting a grand mahogany sleigh bed and views of the garden through double patio doors, this is a wonderful spot to unwind at the end of the day.
Outside, guests are free to enjoy the lawn, soak in the brand new five-person hot tub or relax around the fire at the wonderfully snug covered seating area, allowing for true relaxation to take hold. This garden is the perfect place to unwind and forget one's cares, while the property's location on the edge of a private forest means that some of the neighbours - the local woodland wildlife - are easy to spot.
While there isn't much need to leave the comfort of this boutique bungalow, the area is full of things to see and do. The local countryside has a raft of walking and cycle trails, and there are several magnificent medieval castles dotted throughout the land such as Conwy, Caernarfon, and Harlech. Should you wish to head north to the coast, then there are several pretty beaches to explore, and 40-minutes' drive to the west will lead you to Snowdonia National Park. For those missing urban life, the Roman city of Chester - famed for its zoo - is 30-minutes by car to the east and the city of Liverpool sits approximately an hour away.

Leave a reviewWe had a delightful stay! Upon arrival, we were enchanted by the charming cottage and its private garden. The hot tub and fire pit area added a luxurious touch to our relaxation, allowing us to unwind in the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the cottage - it was truly blissful. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our wonderful hosts, Di and Pete. We had a warm welcome and a detailed tour of the accommodation, making us feel right at home. The cottage is equipped with everything we could possibly need. The carefully chosen decor and stylish pieces in the cottage really showcase the hosts' personalities and highlight the unique architectural features of the building. Each room felt like a work of art, it's beautiful! We must mention the soft towels and comfortable bed, which added to our enjoyment and made us feel truly pampered. We eagerly look forward to the opportunity to stay here again in the future. Di and Pete, thank you for creating such a memorable and delightful experience for us.
