The setting of this stunning Igluhut is as charming as the accommodation itself. Tucked away in its own quarter-acre private garden with a pretty pond and a host of thoughtful and aesthetic details it's a real escape from the bustling world. The cabin would be a perfect retreat for romantic couples looking to unwind in gorgeous surroundings.
The Igluhut is a rarity in that each one is individually hand-built and you'll find a plaque inside the door that will give you the name of the person who crafted it. The wooden exterior with its many curved slats gives it an other-worldly appearance both futuristic and utterly organic. The interior is warm, comfortable, practical and very cosy.
There's a king size bed in its own enclosed nook with a convenient shelf for books, phones and chargers. And that first cup of coffee in bed! This is a perfect place to snuggle up in Egyptian cotton bedding and spend a few hours watching Netflix on the flat screen with snacks. With the cabin being fully insulated you'll find that it is perfectly warm on chilly nights and a wonderful hideaway in the winter.
There's a small kitchenette that comes equipped with a hob, integrated fridge with a freezer for your ice, a toaster and of course the all important kettle for the morning pot of tea or cafetiere of coffee. You'll find all the utensils and crockery you'll need for a simple meal but in the summer you'll want to get out into your gorgeous private garden and fire-up the BBQ.
In the morning you can enjoy a long, hot shower in your modern bathroom with its walk-in shower and you'll find complimentary toiletries, a vanity mirror and warm fluffy towels have all been provided. Wrap yourself in one of the hooded robes, pop on slippers and head out on to the fabulous patio to enjoy breakfast alfresco. You'll find half a dozen fresh eggs from the hens upon arrival.
You might like to start your day with some time in your very own private sauna cabin where you'll find extra towels have been provided. And after that you can sink into the wood-fired hot tub (or post sauna plunge pool!) and enjoy the fresh morning air and the very pretty surroundings. Relax on the sun loungers, read a book or help yourself to the Giant Jenga or Connect 4!
You'll be located just outside the Medieval town of Tewkesbury, sandwiched between the Severn and Avon rivers, so do head out for a stroll, do a little shopping or visit the museums (there are two in the town centre). There's a supermarket where you can stock up on food for the BBQ later on! If you fancy lunch out head to The Black Bear Pub (the oldest pub in Gloucestershire) which has a lovely terrace overlooking the river and a Modern British restaurant serving fine local produce.
Head back to your fabulous garden and get the BBQ started as the sun sets. Relax with a cocktail on the deck or in the garden by the pond. Enjoy a meal alfresco then light up the Star Wars Fire Pit (yes, really) and toast some kindly provided marshmallows. The light pollution levels here are very low and its a wonderful place to star gaze from the rolling deck loungers. You even have a hammock, which is a great place to recline and enjoy the sky.
