Molly’s Wagon was formerly the lodgings of a circus showman in the 1950s, but today it serves as a charming, traditional holiday home, happily nestled on the edge of an arboretum, down the drive from Treberfydd House in Wales. Although it looks unassuming from the outside, it provides every home comfort and all you will need to have the most peaceful break you can imagine, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Inside, cosy is the watchword without sacrificing comfort. The living and seating area provides a super-king sized bed, comfy padded bench seating and a rustic wooden table and chairs. The space is deceptively light and airy, with white wood panelled walls, quirky traditional touches and plenty of storage space. A welcoming woodburning Salamander stove ensures that the wagon remains toasty day and night and with uninterrupted views across a hay meadow to the Black Mountains, where better to brew up, pick a good book and settle down for an evening of peace and quiet?
Outside, you'll find a well-stocked kitchen area which is protected from the elements under an expansive canopy suspended from a circle of trees. There is a seating and dining space here too, so once you have made a delicious meal on the gas stove or fire pit, you can enjoy it alfresco whatever the weather, in your own prettily lit grotto. Beyond the kitchen is a hut complete with a hot shower and view to die for, plus a compost loo (a posh one). Fluffy robes and towels and Welsh Lavender body wash are provided to enhance your bathing experience in nature.
Molly’s Wagon is a truly special place to reconnect with nature and leave the digital world behind. Sit in the morning sun with a coffee on the wagon steps listening to the sounds of wildlife around you, have a snooze in the hammock or star-gaze by the fire pit - you won’t want to leave! If you do want to head out, the wild splendour of Wales awaits you. The Brecon Beacons offers a multitude of hiking and cycling opportunities on your doorstep and beautiful Llangorse lake, a nature reserve and SSSI, is a 10-minute walk across fields from the wagon. Rest assured that your cosy caravan will welcome you home at the end of the day.
