Set overlooking the historic harbour town of Fowey on the southeast coast of Cornwall, Marners Rock is a beautiful three-bedroom apartment, perfect for family getaways or group trips to the seaside. Soak up the sunshine and the spectacular views from the balcony or explore the medieval streets of Fowey, the fab location will make this a truly memorable holiday.
The open plan kitchen and living room has a modern feel but has features that complement the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The colour palette in the kitchen is reminiscent of Cornish slate while the wooden stools at the breakfast bar and the beautiful lamp in the living room call to mind driftwood washed up on the beach. The kitchen is fully equipped and sits next to a dining area featuring a beautiful table made by local craftsmen.
In the living area, a comfy corner sofa is placed in front of the gas-burning stove, perfect for chillier Cornish evenings. In the summer, step through the French doors onto the balcony which overlooks the Fowey Estuary and out to the English Channel. Here, you’ll find some modular furniture which can be arranged how you like to best enjoy the view and the sunshine.
There are three bedrooms in total, sleeping up to six guests. The master bedroom features a super-king double bed which was made by a local craftsman. This room has an elegant and sophisticated feel with original artwork and a subtle colour scheme. The ensuite bathroom is really special with a gorgeous freestanding oval bathtub and a washbasin made from Moroccan limestone with a base crafted locally from a beautiful piece of willow tree. The second bedroom feels equally luxurious and can be made up as a twin room or another super-king double. The final bedroom has the feel of a ship’s cabin with two cosy wooden bunks. This room also doubles up as a TV room for younger generations to ensure there are no arguments on rainy days! These two bedrooms share a family bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
The apartment is just a few minutes walk west to the beach at Readymoney Cove and another few minutes walk east along the Esplanade to reach the harbour town of Fowey. The picturesque town is set on the banks of a tidal estuary with winding cobbled streets and a mix of medieval and Georgian buildings. The Church marks the end of Saints Way, a famous walking route from Padstow on the North coast of Cornwall to Fowey. The port itself has a natural harbour and attracts sailing enthusiasts and hosts an annual regatta. There are also several golf courses nearby and lots of beaches and coves to explore.
