Lundy Cottage is tucked away in the very centre of this pretty fishing port and is a perfect base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. It would be ideal for a family of five or a group of friends seeking sand, sea and a taste of the Cornish life.
The interior has been decorated in a modern, stylish fashion with hints of its past on display in the old stone wall and fireplace, the odd beam still uncovered. The living area is open plan and wonderfully cosy with a plush blue velvet sofa where you can curl up in front of the open fireplace with a cocktail from the drinks trolley, crack open that book you've been meaning to get to, and unwind.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large central island where you can all enjoy a meal, chat over a glass of wine or play some board games on chilly evenings. Decorated in various blue hues with accents of mustard, the space is cool and calm in the summer and toasty warm in the winter.
Up the stairs you'll find three cosy bedrooms, all designed in their own style. There's a double, a single and a room with bunk beds and a Nintendo switch, ideal for kids, and all of the beds are comfortable and decked out with high quality linens and fluffy duvets.
After a peaceful nights rest, head into the family bathroom for a long soak in the tub or an invigorating shower, before heading down for that all important first coffee, which you can enjoy at the island as you make your plans for the day.
The town centre is made up of a maze of narrow streets and alleyways where you can happily wander and explore (you might even come across the famous Squeeze Belly Alley which measures just 18 inches wide!) until you find yourself down at the picturesque harbour where you can sit with an ice cream and watch the fishing boats bobbing and the seagulls overhead. You'll be close to the South West Coastal Path if you fancy clearing the cobwebs. And if you want a day at a stunning beach then the nearest to you is Polzeath, a short drive away, with its golden sands and clear waters.
There are plenty of other beaches within easy travel depending on whether you want to swim, walk, surf or simply sit and stare. Enjoy the port's rich history of smuggling, fishing and slate export or explore the sandy harbour's rock pools as the tide goes out. This is Cornwall in its truest form. And let's not forget that you'll be staying in a foodie heaven! Cornwall has so many culinary delights to offer, with a number of excellent restaurants to choose from. Book ahead for a table at The Oystercatcher and eat seafood as fresh as it gets. Head over to Rock, reputedly the most beautiful place in Cornwall, or hop on a ferry to Padstow where you'll find the National Lobster Hatchery, more delightful food, and the 16th century Prideuax Place.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 4 nights low season & 7 nights high season
