Little Walk Cottage is a four-bedroom set of converted stables in rural Lincolnshire that sleeps four. A fantastic option for family getaways, the property is home to an expansive private garden where your kids can enjoy the swing set and take in the fresh air while you watch them from the patio or grill dinner over the BBQ. Little Walk Cottage's Garden Room is absolutely ideal for taking in the woodland and farmland surrounds, too. It's also the perfect place to get away from it all if you find yourself needing some private time.
Situated right at the heart of the property is its wood-burning stove, which makes for a cosy, rustic way to stay warm during the colder months. You might like to soak away the stress of day-to-day life in one of the pop-up hot tubs that can be rented. And, for those who prefer wild swimming, the estate that houses the property features a tranquil private lake.
Little Walk Cottage is home to a generous ensuite master bedroom, as well as a second twin/double bedroom, making it an ideal destination for smaller families. At the heart of the house is the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with all the essentials, including an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Move into the living room and you're greeted with the wood-burning stove, TV and plush sofas, what better place to spend the night in relaxing with your nearest and dearest?
Guests will find plenty to do in the area around Little Walk Cottage, which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers stunning views of the surroundings Wolds.
The nearby towns of Market Rasen and Horncastle are home to charming pubs, cafes, restaurants and more, and the pretty local villages of Waltham and Caistor make lovely places for an afternoon stroll. Cleethorpes Beach is perfect for a day trip - you can visit the pier, build sandcastles and watch the sunset from the sandy shore.
Get off the beaten track and visit the natural Lincolnshire coast. About an hour’s drive away, this protected coastal park has empty golden sands stretching for miles. You can stop for a bite to eat on the way at Louth or Alford, two delightful market towns en route.
History enthusiasts will find plenty to get excited about in Lincolnshire, too. You'll find some wonderful little antique and vintage shops, plus several museums dedicated to the UK's aviation history, including the International Bomber Command Centre and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight visitor centre. Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle are both remarkably well-preserved and very much worth a visit. Belton House, the Grade-I listed mansion, makes for a lovely day out, step back in time as you explore its ornate corridors and hallways, as well as the follies and woodlands that decorate the surrounding grounds.
