Beautiful cottage on a peaceful Lincolnshire estate that blends rustic, rural charm with modern living.
This utterly charming cottage sits in a peaceful and tranquil slice of the Lincolnshire Wolds set on a quiet village road. A former shepherd’s home, Marris Cottage offers an ideal combination of modern comfort and rural charm. Tucked away on the outskirts of Thorganby village, the cottage has glorious views across rolling countryside and can be the starting point for a number of delightful walking or cycling routes.
Inside, the home has abundant rural charm. Drop your bags off in your room and gather with your loved ones in the cosy lounge with its low ceilings, exposed wooden beams and calming colour palette. A big comfy sofa and armchair sit around the feature fireplace, offering a lovely spot to sit with a drink in hand and warm your toes as you catch up with old friends.
The fully equipped kitchen and breakfast area has a farmhouse feel, with modern appliances making meal prep a breeze. There’s also a rustic round dining table here for hearty meals, and French doors that open up onto the patio. Step outside and dine alfresco on the superb outdoor dining table, which offers a lovely spot to relax with friends whilst taking in the amazing views. There’s also a charcoal BBQ here (you'll need to bring your own charcoal), that you can use to grill up some delicious local produce. The garden is also ideal for little ones and dogs to play, with a small lawn where you can unwind in the summer sunshine.
Once the sun sets, head back inside and head upstairs to one of the two cosy bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms for added privacy. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and the other features a pair of twins, providing you with plenty of flexibility during your stay.
The cottage sits on the marvellous Thorganby Hall Estate, which has a range of amazing facilities that you can make use of during your stay. These include a lovely tennis court, where you can challenge a loved one to a game and a fishing lake that’s stocked with trout - the estate asks that you keep one good-sized trout during your stay and put all other caught fish back. If wild swimming is your passion, then you’re also welcome to swim in the lake.
You’re also located in the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds, so you can step straight out onto a network of scenic footpaths and bridleways. Whether you're up for a gentle stroll or a longer countryside adventure, you’re all set.
