Spend your days immersing yourself in the abundant countryside surrounding this beautiful cottage, from rivers and rolling hills to woodlands and water meadows. Go for a scenic stroll around the lake and beyond, and when you return, take a dip in the shared access pool before sitting by one of the two log burners in the cottage.
Once housing the gardeners who tended the walled gardens, this peaceful seven-bedroom property accommodates up to 14 guests, perfect for large gatherings and get-togethers. Lovingly restored with an eclectic mix of character features and home comforts, the interior is just as relaxing as the beautiful nature that surrounds it.
Take home some produce from the local farm shop and rustle up some grub in the attractive teal kitchen, complete with all essential cooking equipment and crockery, before gathering around the dining table or dining alfresco in the warmer months. In between activities, make yourself at home in the comfortable living space on the top floor, putting your feet up on the velvet sofa and relaxing amongst ambient lighting and walls adorned with art. When you’re ready to unwind fully, soak in one of the free-standing bathtubs and retire to one of the comfortable bedrooms, where a good night’s kip awaits.
By day, you are spoiled for choice in activities, with something to do for every taste. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the South Downs National Park, with plenty of public footpaths to explore, before returning to the walled garden for a refreshing dip in the shared swimming pool.
You can book several experiences on the estate, including guided estate walks and vineyard and winery tours, cider and sourdough pizza making or a spot of fly fishing (all for an additional fee). There’s also the opportunity for a spot of tennis or horse riding, with plenty of space and facilities here to make the most of.
Beyond this stunning estate, you’re well-positioned for delightful day trips. Get your dose of retail therapy amongst charming boutiques in the nearby market town of Alresford or stroll around the award-winning farmer’s market on the second and last Sunday of the month in gorgeous Winchester. There is also plenty of opportunity for a traditional roast at a country pub and local attractions to visit, including the National Trust property of Hinton Ampner House & Garden and Jane Austen’s House.
