An architect-designed lakeside lodge on 55-acres of private estate in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, boasting a private decking area for fishing or al fresco dining.
This stunning architect-designed lodge is set on 55-acres of private eco-estate in Gloucestershire, just opposite The Cotswolds Water Park. Overlooking Little Horseshoe Lake, Island Lodge boasts modern décor, striking floor-to-ceiling windows, and a beautiful woodland setting. And for those who love casting a line, feel free to step out onto the lodge's decking for a spot of fishing. All this, and it's just a short drive from the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making this the perfect retreat for a couple of nature lovers.
Upon entering the lodge, guests will be struck by the spacious, carefully considered layout - not to mention the contemporary yet unpretentious décor. The lodge is open planned and sits under a large vaulted ceiling. The entire space is illuminated in natural light courtesy of the floor-to-ceiling windows that make up of the entirety of the lake side of the property.
To the rear of the property is the kitchen, well equipped to make meal prep a breeze. Adjacent sits a small dining table for two, ideal for enjoying a meal while gazing out over the water.
A luxurious sofa sits by a set of sliding glass doors, and the room is complete with lake views, a large Smart TV and a cosy wood burner. If you don't fancy a movie night, we're sure that a spot of stargazing from the comfort of the couch will be a perfect substitute. On the other side of the glass doors is your own private decking which overlooks the lake. With its sun loungers and outdoor dining furniture, there is no better spot to cast a line, catch some rays or simply enjoy a hot beverage as first light comes over the horizon.
Step back inside and ascend the flight of stairs to the mezzanine bedroom where you will find the super king-sized bed. Here, you can nod off under the moonlight and awake naturally as morning's light creeps in. There is also an open-planned shower room with a WC, basin and shower.
The area has so much more to do than fishing and wandering the beautiful grounds of the estate. The Cotswolds - the largest Area of Outstanding Beauty in England and Wales - is home to numerous chocolate box villages, medieval pubs and country homes. The nearest village is South Cerney, while the Roman town of Cirencester is just six miles away. Other attractions within driving distance include Blenheim Palace, Sudeley Castle, The National Arboretum, Oxford and Bath. For outdoor activities, the Recreational Lake at The Cotswolds Water Park offers trail running, cycling, rowing, fishing, water-skiing, sailing and canoeing.
