Heron Cottage is a charming retreat nestled in the heart of Embleton village close to the Northumberland Coast National Landscape. Surrounded by history and rural charm, the cottage offers groups of up to four or five guests a peaceful getaway close to some stunning beaches.

Inside, the cottage offers a warm, welcoming space with a cosy sitting room that boasts a multi-fuel stove ensuring you and your loved ones can stay toasty and warm throughout your stay. There’s also a Smart TV, on which you can log into your own subscription channels, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring by enjoying a movie night or box set marathon!

The cosy lounge leads through to the main social hub of the home - the open plan living area. This space features an expansive, open-plan kitchen with all the mod cons you’ll need to whip up delicious feasts. There’s also a nice dining area where you can dine long into the night, and the space also features a second sitting area, with a big leather sofa and yet another Smart TV.

The open plan living space also features high ceilings and huge sliding glass doors that let in plenty of natural light. When the weather’s warm, be sure to slide open the door and step out onto your peaceful patio, where a garden table and chairs invite you to enjoy meals alfresco or sit with your morning coffee in the warm summer sun as you plan the day ahead. There’s also a nice lawn area out here and a shed in the garden that would allow for some bike storage.

Heading back inside, when night falls guests can make use of three beautifully appointed bedrooms which sit atop the stunning glass and oak staircase. The master bedroom is spacious and serene, with a king size bed and plenty of storage. The second bedroom is a cosy double bed, while the third offers a built-in full-size single bed, making it perfect for an adult or child. Guests have access to a full family bathroom complete with a separate shower and a second shower room completes the upstairs, ensuring plenty of space for all!

Surrounded by history and local charm, the cottage is just a short walk from cosy pubs and the delightful village Farm Shop. Embleton, with its Norman church and rich heritage, is perhaps best known for the stunning Embleton Bay, a half-mile stroll away through a scenic golf course and dunes, leading to one of Northumberland's most beautiful beaches.

Be sure to stroll England’s Coastal Path, heading towards Dunstanburgh Castle or Low Newton’s Ship Inn. Guests should also explore historical gems like Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, and the Farne Islands, or enjoy birdwatching and local brews at Low Newton.
