The Garden Cottage is a renovated 16th century cottage that sleeps two adults and one infant. Guests are welcomed to the property by its exclusive garden walkway and entrance, which also ensures that they have ample privacy throughout their stay. The garden is also home to a sitting and dining area which, complemented by its lit canopy, makes for an absolutely lovely way to take in some fresh air during warm, summer evenings.

Step inside, and you'll notice that Garden Cottage retains plenty of its original, period features; its rustic exposed beams are especially charming, giving the entire property a cosy, old-school feel. This is far from old-fashioned, though - rather, the property has been fully kitted out with luxury furniture and fittings, making it truly effortless to unwind and unplug during your stay. And, thanks to the cottage's central location in Helmsley, it's an ideal hub for exploring the market town, as well as its delightful surrounds.

As far as amenities go, Garden Cottage has everything you'd ever need for the perfect weekend away in Yorkshire. The dining room features a cosy round table and the kitchenette has a handful of useful amenities, including a microwave, kettle and toaster.

Also on the ground floor is the property's bathroom, finished in marble, which is home to a corner shower, complimentary toiletries and plush, fluffy linen that guests can use at their leisure. You'll also find the cottage's lounge on the ground floor; with its HD TV and cushy sofas, it's the perfect place to spend a quiet, relaxed evening in after a long day exploring the surrounding countryside.

The cottage's master bedroom is, in many ways, the star of the show. Its bed is kitted out with a luxury memory foam mattress, ensuring you sleep like a log during your stay. Additionally, the bedroom features its own TV, as well as fitted wardrobes, so you'll have plenty of storage space to make use of throughout your stay.

Guests will also find plenty to see and do in Helmsley, which is easily one of the North's most captivating and best preserved market towns. It's home to an impressive range of restaurants, cafes, and pubs, giving you plenty of choice when dinnertime rolls around, no matter what your preferences are.

Helmsley is an absolute haven for history enthusiasts. No visit to the town is complete without stopping by Helmsley Castle, a ruined medieval site with plenty of atmosphere and charm. The remains of the Cistercian Rievaulx Abbey are well worth checking out, too - not only is its architecture a sight to behold, but it's also located within the North York Moors, providing the perfect opportunity to sample some gorgeous nature during your visit, too.

A lovely cottage with the 'wow' factor. It's in a perfect location in Helmsley and exploring that part of Yorkshire. Really liked the decor and layout. The garden was lovely to sit out in. Felt very at home and had all we needed. It was one of the best parts of the trip!
