Press pause on life and enjoy complete relaxation in this lovely stone cottage surrounded by farmland in the Scottish Borders.
Gatherers Cottage is built from Scottish stone and renovated to an exceptionally high standard. It sits amongst green fields and woodland which stretches to the horizon - the perfect back drop to a stay with relaxation and healing at its heart.
Around the edge of the cottage a wooden terrace runs where guests can sit out and enjoy the 360 degree views. The area has a small population which guarantees dark skies at night bursting with stars. There is a wood fired Hikki bath for two - the ideal place to star spot from.
The modern, minimalist interior of the cottage with its airy vaulted ceilings could be straight from the pages of a design magazine. The simple, clean style allows guests to relax and 'unclutter' their minds, it also acts as a stylish contrast to the wonderful natural surroundings.
The living area is open plan and sleek. Wooden boards provide the flooring and the walls and vaulted ceiling is painted white to maximise the light which streams through the many windows.
A large kitchen island sits at its centre and is somewhere couples can cook up delicious meals together. The immaculate counter top has an integrated sink and gas stove top, so chop and slice-away while stopping to glance at the lovely views outside.
There is a stylish Scandi-style dining table and chairs where guests can enjoy peaceful breakfasts and romantic suppers before sinking into the luxurious corner sofa and getting cosy for the night. A flat screen television is discreetly positioned on the wall for movie nights.
When its time for bed, head to the separate bedroom and snuggle into the crisp linens and quality bedding. The generous king-sized bed can be set up as twin beds if required. A ceiling window lets guests gaze at the night sky, or pull the blind for some sensory shutdown. The modern bathroom is wet room-style with a freestanding tub and wonderful rainfall shower.
The cottage is very much designed for those wishing to destress and relax in the tranquil setting of this ancient farm with many beautiful walks to be enjoyed from the doorstep of the cottage. If you're dealing with stress or mental health issues, you can take a walk and talk through the beautiful countryside with a BACP registered counsellor who is available to accompany guests.
Nearby Jedburgh offers everything visitors could need, from independent shops selling lovely local produce, great pubs and restaurants and many places of interest including the historic abbey and the Max Nowell sculpture.

Leave a reviewStayed here for 1 night and it was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The cottage has been decorated to high standards, very modern and eco friendly! The views and the garden area is beautiful. Hiki tub is amazing and gets pretty hot. There is also a bbq grill and seating area. Only a short drive from the main village which is lovely. The owners dog is the most chilled, loving dog ever and may pay a visit for belly rubs. I am already looking to book another few trips to this cottage and potentially book out hunters cottage too for a family trip. Perfect 10/10 stay for my 40th birthday. The owner, Annabelle also put up a birthday banner and gave a lovely bottle of Prosecco which was a nice extra touch.

Amazing accommodation! There are no words. Everything was perfect! So clean and fresh, and completed to a very high spec. Not to mention how quiet and relaxing it is. Wish I could spend every weekend here, well needed for a reset!

Fabulous little cottage. Ideal for a little getaway! Beautifully decorated. Lots of touristy things to do in the local area. A perfect, cosy spot to go home to at the end of the day. We are already planning our next stay! Only slight qualm was there was no tea/coffee/sugar. We annoyingly forgot to pack ours and could have done with a cuppa on arrival. We had a baby with us so a trip out in the car is quite a task just for some teabags. No biggie though! Still a 5* stay for us.

This cottage is just perfect, set within the beautiful rolling countryside just above Jedburgh. There has been no expense spared here, Annabelle has created a real grand designs house. The kitchen is out of this world, if you enjoy cooking and love design you will be in heaven. Everything has been carefully sourced from the beautiful hand thrown mugs to the super cool lighting and brushed steel worktop. Outside has miles of walking on the working farm, surrounded by cattle, sheep and the sweetest newborn foal. Returning from our adventures we lit the wood fired hot tub and enjoyed an evening under the stars. I can't recommend this beautiful place enough, with family to stay we also rented the cottage next door. It is the perfect escape to the country, with such wonderful shops and book festival nearby we will definitely be back.
