Fletland Holiday Hamlet sits in its own grounds and offers first class accommodation in five beautifully converted properties, some of which date to the 18th century. With private patios overlooking the river, the grazing horses and llamas (yes, llamas), the hamlet would be perfect for couples, friends and larger families who fancy a lazy summer with BBQ's and the relaxing sound of a river nearby. Book these five accommodation options separately or together for large group getaways. Sitting alongside the owners Watermill and Manor House, the five lets are The Roost, The Holt, The Warren, The Den and The Set.
First up is The Roost, which has a gorgeous open plan living space where the light floods in. The ground floor has a central lounge area with comfy sofas where you can laze in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy a film on the Smart TV. If it's chilly, throw some logs on wood burner and snuggle up with a book. The kitchen area is fully equipped for the creation of culinary delights to be enjoyed at the dining table in front of the patio doors which lead out to a garden overlooking the river. There's one double bedroom on this floor with its own ensuite with a walk-in shower. The remaining two bedrooms are on the second floor offering a king size and twin beds, and the master bedroom has a large balcony. Both also have their own ensuites with walk-in showers making this property ideal for those who don't enjoy queuing in the morning! All of the rooms are sunny with pretty touches of colour in the tasteful décor. There's also outside seating where you can enjoy the view or dine alfresco.
The Holt has much the same to offer as The Roost with a gorgeous open plan living area, plenty of seating and a chunky wooden dining table where you can enjoy a lazy supper prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. It's spacious and airy with a wood burner housed in the old fire place and a smart TV. The pale soothing walls are adorned with lovely items of curios giving it a homely feel. You'll find a double bedroom with an ensuite on this level, great for anyone with mobility issues, and there are also patio doors leading out to the garden by the river (artwork includes photos of the otters that are regularly spotted). There are two bedrooms upstairs which are ensuite with one king size and one twin. Beneath the stairs you'll find a chaise lounge ideal for curling up with a good book.
The Warren is open plan with a larger square kitchen area, fully equipped and modern. There's plenty of seating and a smart TV for chilly nights in, but you'll want to spend as much time as possible on the riverside patio. There's a big table with seating for six and a beer barrel with high stools that just demands you rest a cold pint on it. The décor is tranquil and charming with pretty ornaments dotted about and this floor is home to one convenient toilet. All of the bedrooms are on the first floor with a king size that has its own ensuite with a walk-in shower, a double, a twin room and a family bathroom with a deep tub and shower overhead.
The Den is a romantic space all on one floor with high beamed ceilings. The room is home to a living area with a Freeview smart TV, and tucked in one corner a large brass bed for two with crisp linen and soft pillows. The kitchen is bijou for two, but is equipped for cooking romantic dinners. There is a theme of foxes running through in the art and ornaments lending the place a cheeky charm of its own. There's a cubicle shower room with heated towel rail and toilet.
And last but never least is The Sett. As with all the properties it's light and very inviting. The living and dining area are open plan with a small kitchenette along one wall and a comfy sofa and table in front of the smart TV. As with The Den it's all on one floor but with a separate king size bedroom and a shower room with toilet. The art is lovely, and follows the theme of badgers!
The 28 acres of grounds offer fishing, fabulous walks and a tennis court for your enjoyment. If you fancy a good pint and some excellent food head to The White Horse, an 18th century country pub on Church Street in the village of Baston where kids and dogs are welcome. There are several other lovely pubs in the area but this is the hosts favourite.
