Located a short stroll from Ramsgate's harbour and sandy beach, this unique holiday home is packed with charm and character. The property, originally built in 1929, has been lovingly renovated to create a quirky space that combines the old and the new. Many of the original features have been preserved, including high ceilings and period fireplaces, and are now set alongside an eclectic collection of thrifted furnishings and bold colour palettes. The property also has a self-contained basement with its own colourful style of decor and this can be booked as a separate accommodation option or enjoyed as part of the main house.
Step inside the main house and be greeted by a spacious hallway with glass doors leading through to the living spaces, allowing light to flow through the house. The inviting lounge features comfy sofas gathered around a beautiful fireplace, the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring Kent's coast. When it's time to rustle up some dinner, you'll find everything you'll need in the well-equipped kitchen and space for everyone around the table in the grand dining room with another period fireplace and chandeliers above. After dinner, snuggle up in front of one of the smart TVs, investigate the games and books on offer or sneak off for a soak in the lovely slipper bath.
The basement has its own vibe that has a more modern feel, inspired by pop art and retro design. Decorated with bright colours, bold patterns and eclectic furniture, the basement provides a fun and lively space. Being self-contained, it's great for groups or families who might want a bit of privacy or for those looking for a unique space to unwind and be creative. The basement comfortably sleeps up to four guests while the main house can accommodate another six. There's plenty of flexibility for groups with a king size room that can be split into two singles and a bunk room that provides a cosy hideaway for kids.
There's plenty of exploring to do, right on the doorstep. Start with a stroll down to the iconic harbour where you'll find vibrant cafes and shops along with several sandy beaches. Nature lovers can go fossil hunting or take a trip to Pegwell Nature Reserve a short drive away. For a bit of culture, Dover Castle and Walmer Castle and Gardens are just a short drive away. If you fancy stretching your legs, head off on one of the stunning coastal walks along clifftop paths, offering far-reaching views of the English Channel. If you head north, you might get as far as Broadstairs or even the vibrant town of Margate.
