Perfectly positioned on the waterfront, this calming, contemporary home offers enchanting views as far as the eye can see. With a glass-fronted balcony overlooking the river, beautifully designed rooms and a historic setting, it has all the ingredients to make for a relaxing and memorable getaway.
Walking into the fully refurbished, three storey property, you’ll find yourself in a cosy seating area with a TV and sofa. There’s also a desk overlooking the quay, making this the perfect holiday office for anyone wishing to work from home. The cottage sleeps six and two of the three bedrooms, one with a bunk bed and one with a king size bed, are also on this ground floor, along with the family bathroom, which boasts a deep, freestanding bath and separate shower.
Climbing the steps to the first floor, you’ll discover the light and airy open-plan living space. The stunning views across the water, through generously-sized windows, are sure to take your breath away. Comfy seats have been perfectly placed to make the most of these enviable vistas and there’s a wood burner in the corner to keep you warm on chilly evenings.
From the seating area, you can throw open the door to the fantastic, private balcony. It’s glass-fronted, so even when you’re relaxing on the lounger or in one of the rattan chairs, your view of the water will be uninterrupted. This is the spot to enjoy an aperitif, read your book or simply sit and watch the boats go by. And because it’s west-facing, you’ll be treated to some spectacular sunsets as the sun disappears over the horizon.
Back indoors, the pristine kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you’ll need to make preparing meals and clearing up a breeze, including a microwave, fan-assisted oven and dishwasher. There’s also an oak dining table with seating for six on a comfortable corner banquette.
The second floor houses the loft-style master bedroom. The views from the top of the house are fabulous and can be enjoyed from the comfort of the luxurious window seat. This stylish room also benefits from an ensuite shower room with luxury fittings.
Blue Water Cottage is in the charming village of Flushing, which is steeped in Cornish history. The village boasts two pubs, a bistro and a well-stocked shop. From the quay, there are regular ferries across the water to popular Falmouth with its delightful independent shops and numerous bars and restaurants. And in high season, you can even catch a water taxi from Falmouth back to your front door – a wonderfully memorable way to end your day trip.
