If you and your loved one are looking for a peaceful retreat for two in the heart of the serene Worcestershire countryside, then you may want to visit Astley Vineyard Shepherd Huts. These two charming shepherd’s huts sit in the stunning Severn Valley offering the perfect spot to unwind while watching buzzards soar overhead. Add to this the fact that both huts sit in one of the oldest vineyards in the UK, and you’ve got your perfect romantic getaway.

Spend your days exploring the surrounding countryside or visiting the vineyard for an organised tour, tasting their delicious wines. And after a day out and about, retire back to the comfort of your cosy shepherd’s hut where you can enjoy a perfect night’s sleep in your traditional metal-framed double bed, wrapped in soft, organic cotton bedding. Drift off to the soothing sounds of owls nearby, ready to greet the morning feeling refreshed.

Wake up and enjoy your first coffee of the day in peace and tranquillity, as you open up your hut’s huge doors letting the outside in. Or, if the weather’s not so warm, close the doors and light the wood-burner, ensuring you can stay toasty as you settle in with a good book enjoying the view.

The huts each feature their own private ensuite bathroom with a nice hot shower for morning soaks. There is also a nicely equipped kitchenette, which features an electric hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, cafetière and other cooking essentials. And of course, there’s a corkscrew for your wine! Speaking of wine, you and your loved one will be delighted to know that upon arrival you’ll receive a welcome gift of some delicious wine from the estate, so you can enjoy a glass right away.

You and your partner are also welcome to go on a tour of the estate and visit the vineyard, tasting a number of wines along the way. If you're interested in this then let the owners know who can arrange that for you with ease. It’s also worth adding that guests staying at the shepherd’s huts will receive a 5% discount on any purchases they make at the vineyard during their stay.

As you step outside your peaceful shepherd’s hut, you can enjoy the tranquillity of nature all around you. You may want to rest with a drink on your quaint alfresco dining set or venture to the pavilion and get cosy by the firepit. However, if you do want to venture out and explore the area, you can take a leisurely walk through nearby Shrawley Woods to a welcoming country pub for a hearty meal and refreshing drink.

If you're in the mood for a day trip, you're perfectly placed between two stunning Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: the Malvern Hills and the Shropshire Hills, both offering breathtaking landscapes and rewarding hikes. Nature lovers will find these destinations well worth the visit.

Alternatively, for a city adventure, Birmingham is less than an hour’s drive, offering vibrant shopping, dining and cultural experiences. Closer to home, Worcester is just 30 minutes away by car, where you can explore its historic cathedral, quaint streets and riverside views.
