As you walk through the door you'll find an elegant and tasteful open plan living area with a wall of windows letting in an abundance of light and providing perfectly framed and uninterrupted views of the Tarn. A comfy sofa has been positioned to make the most of this and the space is perfect for snuggling in front of the electric fire with its relaxing flame effect whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The hosts have provided a smart TV if you fancy watching a movie and the modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need to prepare a delicious feast for two, to be enjoyed by candlelight at the round dining table with its very comfortable high backed soft chairs. Everything from the brass fittings to the dark green feature wall speaks of style and understated class with interesting touches throughout.
The thoughtfully designed first floor bedroom provides another wall of windows giving you constant exposure to the stunning views outside which you can enjoy from the comfort of a large cosy bed. Or if you're feeling particularly decadent there's a gorgeous brass bath at the far end of the bedroom, and a champagne bucket to indulge yourself in a long hot soak with some cold fizz, whilst staring out at the stars twinkling above the lake below. There's also an en-suite with a luxury shower for those mornings when you want to get out and about without languishing in the tub for hours.
After a great night's sleep make use of the Nespresso machine and enjoy the view from your private patio area overlooking the landscaped garden before heading out to explore the area.
Talkin Tarn nestles nine miles East of Carlisle and two miles south of Brampton where there are shops, bars and restaurants. The footpath from your door leads to the village of Talkin, where you can relax with a local ale and meal in the village inn. Or wander down to The Boathouse Cafe and Gift Shop with its fabulous array of cakes and enjoy a coffee and lunch al fresco overlooking the tarn. You can hire a rowing boat, try your hand at stand up paddle boarding, kayaking or archery. There's also a lovely walk through mature woodland just a mile away and you might want to take in some history at Castle Carrock Fell. If you're inclined you can fish on the shores of the Tarn or enjoy a round of golf, the course literally overlooks the cottages. If you love a lake and enjoy relaxing in beautiful tranquil surroundings then Number 8 is the place for you.
