In the heart of Wiltshire, just a ten minute drive the historic and picturesque National Trust village of Lacock, the Pear Tree Inn is a delightful boutique hotel in a beautifully restored building, now offering eight en-suite bedrooms. With wisteria hanging over the patio, a brilliant bar and restaurant downstairs, and bags of character, the Pear Tree Inn is a great hotel for anybody looking to spend a romantic, professional, or social time in this area of profound beauty and fascinating history.

Downstairs, the cosy bar is a dreamy spot to relax at the end of a day’s exploring, and open a book with a pint of local ale, or a glass of wine. The aesthetic is unique, with touches of the classic English country house, and more bohemian touches to some of the vintage furniture and exposed industrial look. The building’s original architecture has been tastefully exposed with a few judicious interior decisions, creating a space which is a delight to behold. Next door, the Sun Room restaurant awaits, with its fantastic menu and emphasis on seasonal, sustainable local meat, game and produce. Nearby grocers, farmers and other artisans are at the heart of the Sun Room’s culinary ethos, with the restaurant championing food from the immediate vicinity, expertly prepared.

Upstairs, the hotel itself comprises eight individual bedrooms, all characterised by the hotel’s overarching aesthetic, but each benefitting from their own distinctive individual style. This is a hotel where no detail has been overlooked, with close attention paid to fittings, fixtures and furnishings. Expect gorgeous bedrooms with antique furniture, ample space, and expansive views of the Wiltshire countryside. The bathrooms are a delight to experience, and all around, print and flock wallpaper endow the spaces with a timeless sense of taste and classiness.

The hotel is the perfect jumping-off spot for guests looking to take in Bath, Lacock, Bradford on Avon and the vibrant, verdant landscape all around. Bath in particular, with its ancient architecture, rich cultural significance and all-year-round charm is well worth a visit. There are two great gold clubs within an eight mile distance, Lacock Abbey is just two and a half miles away, and both Farleigh Hungerford Castle and Sham Castle await your visits. At the end of the day, recline in front of the cheery fire in the bar, or take a pre-supper stroll around the hotel’s two acre garden.

Beautiful place with lovely gardens, excellent rooms and a great location for visiting Bradford on Avon and Frome. The restaurant is fantastic - over the course of a two night stay, we ate lunch and both evening meals here because the food and service is so good!
