Enjoy a fun and relaxing break in this former windmill that offers groups of up to eight a magical stay on the Isle of Man. With fairy tale touches, comfy furnishings throughout and great access to all that this magnificent island has to offer, The Witches Mill is perfect for your next family holiday.
The mill spans four levels, with three mezzanine floors in between. The ground floor is where you enter the property and you head up one flight of stairs into the kitchen-diner, which is a great place to socialise as your loved one prepares dinner. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the rustic dining table offers a lovely spot for a hearty lunch or fab feast come dinner time.
The mill’s first floor has been lovingly designed to create a fantastic haven for any little ones travelling with you. There’s a beautiful bed that’s been crafted from oak tree trunks and branches in the double room, and in the bunk bedroom there’s a fab fairy tale tree. The tree trunk features a cosy sitting area, ideal for two children to tuck themselves away. It even comes equipped with a built-in Bluetooth speaker, perfect for playing music or bedtime stories for your little ones. This level also includes a shower room, packed with exciting and playful features.
As well as the two bedrooms on the first floor, there are two spacious ensuite bedrooms located on the ground floor. One of these has a super-king bed and the other has a double.
Heading up to the second floor, you’ll find the comfy and cosy lounge with its own balcony and another front-facing balcony where you can enjoy a drink with a view whilst breathing in that fresh country air. The lounge is full of natural light thanks to the many windows which nicely frame the surrounding views. There’s a three-seater sofa and five arm chairs where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa or an evening tipple. The lounge also features a Smart TV with Chromecast and is uniquely decorated with an original windmill hoist wheel, now creatively repurposed as a downlight panel.
The third floor features the hobby room, surrounded by four windows and topped with a glass roof within a steel structure 20 feet above. Sunlight streams through the mezzanine conservatory gallery’s steel mesh flooring, creating a bright space. The room includes a foldable table, mini-library, board games and table football. A vintage spiral staircase leads to the conservatory gallery, perfect for stargazing with recliner chairs and a telescope.
Nestled in a prime location, the windmill stands out among windmill-converted homes for its unbeatable convenience and charm. Just a leisurely six-minute stroll takes you to the heart of Castletown Centre, where history meets modern comforts. Explore the imposing Castle Rushen, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval castles, or enjoy a variety of boutique shops, cosy pubs and delightful restaurants.
