Reconnect with nature at the Waterlily Lodge, a stunning lakeside retreat for two set in a private eco-reserve – perfect for a romantic, tranquil getaway.
Waterlily Lodge has been thoughtfully designed for total privacy and tranquillity, making it ideal for a romantic weekend away. The property is hidden away amongst two pristine lakes in a 55-acre eco-reserve, offering guests the chance to relax and take in the stunning views across the water. Surrounded by verdant countryside and just a stone’s throw away from the Cotswolds, the lodge couldn’t be better located for an unforgettable rural retreat.
The home perfectly complements its idyllic surroundings. At its heart is a light and airy open-plan living area, characterised by large, floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the room with natural light and provide breathtaking lake vistas. The space has been beautifully furnished and decorated, oozing simple yet sophisticated contemporary style.
There’s plenty of space to unwind, including a lounge with smart TV and a small snug area, a lovely spot to read a good book or enjoy a well earned afternoon nap. When it’s time to eat, guests can make use of the well-equipped kitchen, and meals can be shared at the dining table. Upstairs on the mezzanine, you’ll find the delightful super king bedroom and ensuite shower room. The home is warmed by underfloor heating and has a wood burner which can be lit for a cosy night in (an inexhaustible supply of logs are provided.)
The property also boasts a private deck with seating right on the water’s edge. It’s a wonderful place to share a bottle of wine and take in the view, listen to the peaceful sounds of birdsong and stargaze at night.
The surrounding area is made up of two lakes and an untamed nature reserve, which acts as a valuable habitat for a rich variety of wildlife including bats and wildfowl, which can sometimes be spotted from the lodge. The reserve is waiting to be explored, and there are several picturesque woodland footpaths right on your doorstep.
Slightly further afield is the Cotswolds AONB, where you can indulge yourself in a luxurious spa or eat at one of the many fantastic restaurants. If you want to do something a bit more active, there are opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and sailing (just to name a few). Nearby Cirencester is well worth visiting, a charming market town with a fascinating Roman history, as well as a good selection of shops and eateries.
