On the edge of the moors, in a lush private valley bursting with every shade of green, this charming converted barn is a romantic little bolthole for two. This traditional stone barn has been beautifully renovated to a high standard while retaining all of its unique character.
Externally it oozes centuries-old charm with exposed stone walls complimented by areas of timber cladding and inside, the theme continues. Repurposed timbers have been imaginatively used to build the staircase, kitchen and a seating area within the barn, while white-washed stone walls compliments wooden floorboards.
Guests enter directly into the stylish and compact kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen runs along one wall and has all the conveniences needed to knock up farm breakfasts which guests can enjoy at the wooden dining table while taking in the pretty views. Cushions and throws cover the seating area where guests can kick off muddy boots and enjoy cosy evenings sipping tea and toasting feet by the wood burning fire.
When bedtime beckons, a cute stairwell takes visitors upstairs to the bedroom where the double bed is built into the barn. An ensuite bathroom and shower boasts more of the repurposed wood and fashionable honeycomb tiles. White fluffy towel are provided to give an extra, luxurious touch.
The property comes with its own private garden which sits adjacent to green fields and thick hedgerows. There are outdoor chairs and a table for relaxing at anytime of the day or night and there's even a hammock for some added luxury. Wrap up under a blanket and enjoy watching the constellations in a pollution free night sky.
Small Barn is perfectly positioned for exploring Dartmoor and the nearby coastlines. Hikers will love wandering the famous Tors or hitting the coastal paths. while cyclists of all ages head to Haldron Forest for pump tracks and pretty trails. The south coast of Devon offers stunning beaches and hidden coves to explore and plenty of varied activities from surfing at Bantham Beach to paddleboarding on the many estuaries.
And when stomachs start grumbling, there are plenty of lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. The owners recommend trying the Rugglestone Inn in the middle of Dartmoor, The Bull Inn in Totnes or the Oyster Shack in Bigbury.
