This charming lodge sits in a wonderful spot of Northumberland countryside. Recently renovated by local artisan craftsmen, The Old Workshop is an ideal holiday home for couples, small groups of friends and families.
Tastefully decorated throughout, the home has pretty hardwood floors and whitewashed walls and the windows and big glass doors nicely frame the picturesque scenery outside.
Guests can get cosy in the comfy living room by lighting the wood-burning fireplace. Relax on the L-shaped sofa with a good book or chat with your loved ones as you gaze out of the doors or enjoy a movie on the smart TV. The lounge space is part of a wider open-plan living area that also features the modern kitchen and the dining area.
Whip up delicious feasts in the nicely-equipped kitchen whilst your loved ones keep you company sitting up at the raised bar area, which also makes a nice spot for your morning coffee. The kitchen makes use of state of the art Fisher & Paykel appliances, meaning you have all you need to cook tasty meals throughout your stay.
When dinner’s ready, enjoy meals on the big, round table inside or you might want to dine on the west facing patio whilst taking in the pretty valley views (or looking across to the private tennis court which is available for guests use by appointment).
The Old Workshop’s two bedrooms both offer big, comfy beds that guarantee a peaceful night’s sleep. The first bedroom can be set up as a super king bed or two singles and the second bedroom features a double bed. This offers plenty of flexibility for you and your group and both rooms also have their own ensuite bathrooms for added privacy.
Young families will also be delighted to hear that there’s a secret playroom at The Old Workshop with a nice selection of toys provided.
Sitting on the edge of the beautiful town of Corbridge, guests will love venturing out to explore the local area. Corbridge is known for its large number of independent businesses and its extensive Roman history. Visit the Market Place, which is home to a baker, art shop, traditional grocer and more. Literary types will also want to visit the award-winning Forum Books at The Chapel.
If you wish to venture further, you have all of Northumberland to explore. With its breathtaking beauty, ruinous castles and quiet, striking beaches, this is one of the UK’s most incredible destinations. Add to this the picture-postcard market towns and rugged rural scenery and you’ve got the makings of a fabulous holiday.
