You should know
- You'll need a car to make the most of this rural location – there is allocated driveway parking for one car – that being said you will be on a farm with other properties so its not an isolated spot.
- Pets cost an extra £40.
- Logs for the wood burner are only supplied from October to April.
- There is a small garden area at the front of the property –this is not secured, so dogs and children will need to be accompanied.
- A cot and highchair are available on request.
The traditional honey-coloured stone exterior of this delightful cottage belies the cheeky roguish interior which has been decorated with an eye for old time glamour. Beautiful wooden beams and a charming original cast iron wood burner contrast strikingly with ink blue walls and a modern open plan sleek kitchen and contemporary lounge area, with a comfy plush sofa and artsy cowhide chair.
The dark walls make the room cosy and the seating faces a good sized flat screen TV resting on an antique luggage box with the wood burner tucked into the corner ready to toast your toes. Lovely black and white movie photos adorn one wall and there's an arching floor lamp, perfect for snuggling up beneath with a good book and a glass of wine.
The kitchen has everything you could need to whip up a delicious meal and there's a small wooden table with funky perspex chairs in the corner, just right for a couple wanting to linger over a candlelit dinner. There will be a welcome hamper on arrival so be sure to rummage through that before you make your farm to table shopping list!
The bedroom continues the theme with its dark walls and big luxurious bed covered with a large fur-like throw to add to the general feeling of luxury. The bathroom is elegant with complimentary toiletries and daring coal coloured walls. There's a good sized rain shower too.
Spend lazy mornings in the sunny garden with coffee and admire the beautiful countryside before heading out to explore the surrounding Cotswolds. The cottage is a short drive from the market town of Farringdon where you will find all of your essentials, including a local pub, The Trout Inn, where you can imbibe a riverside pint in the garden. Enjoy some pretty walks around Camden Farm and indulge in a champagne afternoon tea at Sudbury House before popping into Stay where you can fill your bags with artisanal local fare to be enjoyed in front of a roaring fire before the next day's adventures begin.
