This delightful shepherd’s hut for two is set in 20 acres of gorgeous countryside on a peaceful Dorset farm. The double hut has been built to suit the glorious location, based around a spacious wooden deck where you can make the most of the expansive vistas in privacy. Perfect for a romantic getaway, every detail has been considered to make your stay as magical as possible; from the copper bathtub positioned on a raised platform so you can bathe with a view, to the luxurious woodfired hot tub for an indulgent soak under the stars.
The property consists of two huts joined together, making the interior surprisingly spacious. Guests enter into the beautifully styled living area, with a cosy woodburning stove and comfy chesterfield sofa, ideal for snuggling up when it’s chilly. There’s also a TV and WiFi if you want to keep connected, or you could switch off and have a digital break (there’s plenty of books and games to keep you occupied). The Novelist has the extra benefit of having a kitchen, equipped with an induction hob, fridge, kettle, toaster and all the basics needed to cater for yourselves.
Step over to the adjoined hut and you’ll find the luxurious king size bed with crisp linen sheets, where guests can doze off looking up into the starry sky courtesy of the star gazing ceiling window. Opposite the bed is the lavish William Holland copper and nickel roll top bath, surrounded by large windows. The hut also has a cloakroom with a flushing toilet, so you don’t have to worry about venturing outside in the middle of the night.
Outside the hut is the private wooden decking, supported by traditional saddle stones, with loungers to soak up some sunshine and a fire pit to warm up by and toast marshmallows in the evening. There’s also an alfresco rainfall shower on the deck, and of course the hot tub, conveniently positioned right beside it.
If you want to make your getaway extra special, there are a selection of hampers available to order awaiting your arrival. You’ll also be able to order a tipple from a range of local breweries and distilleries directly to your hut during your stay.
There’s plenty to do and see in the local area if you can pry yourself away from the wonderful farm. The hut is surrounded by a network of scenic footpaths and bridleways winding through the tranquil Dorset countryside, many leading to charming country pubs and picturesque villages. Nearby Beaminster and Bridport have some lovely places to eat if you’ve worked up an appetite. And finally, you’re just six miles from the Jurassic Coast, with breathtaking beaches, dramatic cliffs and secluded caves waiting to be explored.
