Stunning apartment in a remarkable Tudor building in the heart of Shakespeare’s England and accessible to the Cotswolds.
This lovely apartment, forming part of a stunning listed Tudor building, is the perfect spot for those intrigued by this historic part of England. Shakespeare's birthplace is just a few miles away and Henley in Arden sits near the chocolate box villages of the Cotswolds and the majestic Warwick Castle.
On arrival guests will want to pop the kettle on and relax on the bench seat of the lattice bay window which overlooks the historic market cross. Sit back and take-in the comings-and-goings of this quaint town while deciding where to enjoy dinner. For night's in, self-catering is a breeze in the modern kitchen which has everything guests could need for preparing meals. The kitchen has Siemens integrated appliances and stone composite worktops give a sleek, chic aesthetic.
A solid wooden table sits to the side and is positioned by one of the feature windows, ideal for a spot of people-watching over breakfast, while marvelling in the property's 400 year history. Relax in the comfy sitting area on the deep sofa and enjoy the flicker of the candles in the brick inglenook fireplace. A large flatscreen television provides entertainment on evenings in, meaning guests can relax and catch up on a boxset.
When bedtime arrives, head to the rear of the apartment, where a quiet, stylish room awaits. Large bespoke wardrobes provide plenty of space to stash belongings and souvenirs. The large bed is dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets and, along with the quality mattress and cosy duvet, makes a lie-in a must. The view from the bedroom window overlooks the quiet courtyard and more Tudor buildings opposite while stylish drapes keep the sunlight at bay until it's time to start the new day.
A modern bathroom has a large walk-in shower where guests can get refreshed with complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels.
Henley in Arden is now a major player on the Warwickshire tourism map with lots of things going on locally. Guests can climb The Mount in the town (the pre-Norman former site of Beaudesert Castle) and enjoy views of the surrounding countryside. The town still stages many historic spectacles including ‘Court Leet Day’ and has a popular annual Music Festival over August Bank Holiday. There are canal paths to stroll, footpaths to wander and bridleways which wind through the pretty surrounding countryside. There are also plenty of ancient pubs, modern restaurants and quaint cafes to refuel in. Make a reservation at Michelin-starred Cheal’s, perfect for celebratory meals and just a few minutes walk away, pop into Dolce Cafe for lunch. For the thirsty, there are six pubs in the town, five of which serve food. For day trips to Stratford, hop on the Bard's bus which takes visitors to the centre of the historic town.
