Tucked away in the remote and peaceful Scottish countryside, the Bothy at Coneloch overlooks the scenic landscapes of Moray and is the perfect romantic retreat.
The Bothy at Coneloch is located just outside Elgin, overlooking stunning Moray and Moray Firth. The secluded chalet is the perfect getaway to disconnect from the world and relax with your partner. The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with some lovely walks right from your doorstep where you can explore the area and take in the wonderful views. Apart from the helpful hosts who live across the road, you’ll have complete privacy, with your only other neighbours being the local chickens and peacocks.
The bothy is a charming chalet with a spacious open-plan interior. It has recently undergone a full renovation and includes a self-catering kitchen, underfloor heating and a bathroom with a flushing toilet and shower. The kitchen has all the appliances and equipment you’ll need to cook comfortably, and you’ll be provided with fresh eggs and homemade jam for breakfast. You can eat in the dining area or on the outdoor decking, a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine and appreciate the view. In the cooler months, why not warm up by the wood-burning stove in the cosy seating area and read a book or play a board game? There’s also a TV and Wifi to keep you connected. When it’s time to sleep, retreat to the comfortable king size bed fitted with super soft linen.
Moray Speyside is a world-famous whisky region, and the local town of Elgin – just a ten-minute drive away – has several distilleries that are open to the public for tours. There’s also a cathedral, a museum and plenty of shops and eateries to visit. The quaint villages of Fogwatt and Longmorn are a few minutes' drive away and both boast some impressive walking and cycle routes, as well as annual events and places to visit. Millbuies Country Park is also a short drive away; it has various paths around a picturesque loch and is a great place to see some local wildlife. A twenty-minute drive will get you to the northern coast and the town of Lossiemouth, which boasts two sandy beaches and is a favourite spot for surfers and water-sport enthusiasts. You can also book boat rides for dolphin spotting or sea angling.
