The first thing that will strike you about this bijou little pad is how thoughtfully the owner has utilised and decorated the space. It's not huge but the grey wood floorboards give it a lovely flow and the mid century styled furniture gives it a funky retro feel, and the mute colour palette is nicely complimented by the colourful framed Design Museum prints along the walls.
The living area has an airy, light feel to it with a cool two seater blue armchair and a flatscreen TV. A few books and ornaments are dotted around and the space feels neat. At one end you have a modern kitchen area where you can prep all the goodies you bought at Battersea's famous Northcote Road Market and at the opposite end you have a gorgeous little terrace with french style table and seating, spilling light into the room. This is a great spot for enjoying your morning coffee on a sunny day. The bedroom is simply decorated with some fun pieces and a comfortable double bed, and the slate bathroom has a great walk-in rain shower and heated towel rails.
In the heart of Battersea this flat is part of a Victorian terrace on a leafy street and is perfectly located for those wishing to explore one of the coolest parts of London. Battersea is very much its own place with a distinct character and whilst this accommodation isn't near a tube station, there are plenty of buses to hop on and off. The area is known for its green expanses including Clapham Common, Wandsworth Common and the vast Battersea Park with its children's zoo. There's also a boating lake, mini golf, and many acres of nature trails to explore.
Battersea is great for foodies and you might want to check out Flour To The People, an excellent eatery specialising in Neopolitan Pizza and sourdough bread. There are plenty of great pubs too and if you fancy a good Sunday roast try The Lighthouse. The previously mentioned Northcote Road Market is a must and dates back to the 1860's, and if you head up to Lavender Hill you'll discover some fantastic Independent Boutiques. At the end of the day you can head back to your retro little pad on its leafy street and chill in front of the TV or enjoy some artisanal ales.
