Dorset Forest Garden is a beautiful 20-acres of private land in West Dorset which overlooks Eggardon Iron Age Hill Fort. It is also where you will find The Astronomer's Hut. This gorgeous glamping gem has been constructed with style, comfort and wow-factor in equal measure. A plush king-size bed sits beneath a striking star-gazing skylight, while guests are free to use the wood fired hot tub at their leisure. And besides all that the hut has to offer, you will be ideally positioned to explore the stunning countryside of West Dorset. So, for a couple's getaway that prizes tranquil living in one of England's most impressive locales, visit The Astronomer's Hut.
The Astronomer's Hut is accessed via a set of patio doors. Meticulously decorated by the owners, it is replete with quirky fixtures, while dark blue walls are complimented by the arched copper ceiling. A kitchenette comes surprisingly well equipped and includes a sink, induction hob, kettle, toaster and fridge to meet all your self-catering needs. And when it comes to dinner time a pull-out table for two extends from the bed - or you might want to dine al fresco in the fresh country air. There is also a separate bathroom with a WC, basin and hot shower.
When it comes to bed time, the king-size bed - adorned in the finest linens - benefits from expansive views of the surrounding countryside and sits underneath the feature that gives the hut its name - the skylight. There really is no better way to fall asleep than under the gaze of a starry sky.
Step outside and onto the garden where you can catch some rays on the sun loungers or chill in the hammock. Fancy a spot of al fresco dining? Get the barbeque fired up, have yourself a meal at the outdoor furniture and survey the undulating countryside. When the evening kicks in, hop into the wood fired hot tub and take in the uninterrupted night's sky.
While there is lots to see and do around the farm, should you wish to venture a little further, you will be perfectly set within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The region is teeming with beautiful walking and cycling trails. You will not want for arresting scenery in this part of the world. There are plenty of picturesque towns and villages to visit too. Beaminster comes highly recommended and is just two miles down the road - home to a handful of charming pubs and eateries. Nearby attractions include Furleigh Estate Vineyard, Hooke Park and Dorset Falconry Park.
