Gorgeous and simplistic tipis with firepits and uninterrupted views in every direction, on a 45 acre former quarry.
Perched on a remote and tranquil pasture with stunning views in every direction, Shanti Tipis are a suite of self-catering tipis, each capable of accommodating up to two guests in a double bed. Located in beautiful, trendy, friendly Tintagel, Shanti Tipis are the ultimate place to stay for single travellers, couples, families and friends looking to take in the Southwest in style, while getting away from the stresses of urban living.
The tipis themselves are situated on a former quarry, now reclaimed by nature, creating a unique forty five acre haven, free from the bustle of the twenty first century, surrounded by the sea and rolling Cornish hills. This is the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed, and every day leaves you even more restored.
The tipis are simple in their design, layout and furnishings, with everything you need to re-connect with nature. Each has a hessian floor underfoot and is constructed from timber poles and canvas. There is a low slung double bed in each tipi, as well as a Kudhva candle, with no other clutter. As far as amenities are concerned, there is a small reception block just five minutes walk away, where guests will find bathrooms with hot, high-pressure plumbing, and full kitchens. That said, rather than cooking indoors, many guests choose to prepare their food over the large, beautifully crafted firepits outside the tipis. Guests can enjoy 180 degree vistas as they sit by the fire, with a glass of wine as they wait for their locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables to grill over the fire.
This area of Cornwall remains enduringly beloved by locals and visitors alike, with its easy-going lifestyle, immersion in nature, coastal ambience and wonderful food. Home to a great art scene, Tintagel is a haven for sculptors and painters, and home to countless open studios and galleries. For more active holidaymakers, the network of coastal paths, cycle routes and wild swimming spots are guaranteed to enthral, while surfers, sailors, fisherman and sea kayakers will be delighted by the proximity to some of the finest spots on the Atlantic.
As far as dining is concerned, local eatery Beautiful & The Feast has set up a pop-up kitchen on site, offering dinner on Saturday night and breakfasts on Sunday morning, both sure treats. For alternative Mexican fare, head to Mexi Kernow just five minutes up the road, and dine in a converted shipping container. Another unmissable treat is The Rocket Store, which serves extremely fresh fish from the owners' own boat, and meat from a nearby farm.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
