Surround yourself with the sea at this sweet cottage with a view, in the charming location of Anvil Point Lighthouse in Dorset.
Panoramic views are in abundance from Rowena Cottage, which sleeps five guests and is one of two holiday cottages at the lighthouse, situated within the grounds of Durleston Country Park. From your cottage by the sea, you're approximately two miles up the hill from Swanage town centre, which offers you a fantastic range of shops, restaurants and some traditional pubs for your stay.
Inside you’ll find three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everywhere has been simply and tastefully decorated, in mainly whites and blues, with the use of natural materials throughout. The living room is cosy, with an electric wood burner, and the spacious kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine/dryer. On the technology front there’s a TV, DVD and CD player, plus Wi-Fi throughout. Enjoy the outdoors with a private side garden area with a sea view, and an additional shared garden area (both unenclosed) to the rear. There’s even garden furniture, so you can eat al fresco on balmy days. Should you be travelling with kids, a travel cot and a highchair are available.
You can enjoy easy access to the Dorset coastline, sandy beaches and other attractions from this location, as well as proximity to some terrific sites such as the National Trust's historic Corfe Castle, the lovely Lulworth Cove, and Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. For a great day out for the whole family visit Studland beach, or why not take a trip on the Swanage Railway for a different mode of travel. There are also plenty of festivals in the area should you want to time your trip, including Purbeck Literary Festival in February, Dorset Seafood Festival and Swanage Jazz Festival in July and Camp Bestival in August.
