You will discover the two bespoke cabins Daireach and Saileach on a sheep farm on the outskirts of Kenmare. They offer a pure and natural escape from the hustle and bustle of life, yet are within a leisurely walk of the wonderful heritage town of Kenmare. Nestled on top of a green field with access to Mucksna Mountain, these cabins provide luxury, comfort, peace and quiet plus spectacular, uninterrupted views of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and Kenmare Bay.
Decorated simply with all the comforts required for a luxurious stay, the cosy cabins are very well insulated and have an electric storage heater if required on cooler days. With under-bed storage and coat hooks for your luggage, all available space is cleverly utilised. Wake up from your luxurious double bed with bedlinen from Irish company White and Green and enjoy the views from the fully glazed front wall. On those wet days, the sound of the rain against the roof will lull you into a restful sleep.
Enjoy a simple breakfast as each cabin is equipped with a small kitchenette including a sink, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, electric kettle and toaster. A complimentary hamper with essentials and a few local surprises will be awaiting your arrival so you can fill up before heading out to explore. The ensuite bathroom fits neatly at the back of the cabin and includes a spacious gas-powered shower, wash hand basin and toilet. Fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries are provided for that extra touch of luxury.
Each cabin has its own private patio with a table and chairs, BBQ grill and fire pit. In the mornings the sun rises just behind the cabins so take your morning coffee outside and bask in the views, or why not make the short walk to the top of the farm for the lovely summer sunrise overlooking Kenmare Town? Evenings can be spent enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sun setting behind the majestic MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and soaking in the wonderful clear night skies. You will only have the company of the sheep quietly grazing, a hare, a pheasant, or maybe one of the wild deer that roam the hills in this area. Bring your provided picnic blanket and you'll have ample private and quiet spots on the hillside or in the wild woodland to have a lazy lunch, read your favourite book, meditate or just enjoy the views and nature.
Only 20 minutes' walk away is the beautiful town of Kenmare with its vibrant shop front colours and happy, relaxed atmosphere. You will find wonderful hiking on the Kerry and Beara Way, safe cycling on the quiet backroads and some of the best cafes and restaurants in the country. Whether your interest lies in kayaking or walking with alpacas, you are sure to find an activity to suit you nearby.
