No.9 is a starkly beautiful larch-clad re-imagining of the traditional Scottish longhouse designed with a Scandi minimalism that blends seamlessly into the wild landscape. It would be perfect for a couple, a solo adventurer, or a small family seeking a quiet space to relax surrounded by elemental beauty.
The interior is spacious and open plan with huge glass doors and windows bringing the stunning surroundings of land, sea and sky into the home whichever way you turn. The vaulted ceilings, neutral tones and natural textures throughout create a peaceful haven where you can unwind and recharge.
A contemporary and sleek kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need to cook a feast and enjoy it at the dining table by candlelight. You'll find everything right down to the earthenware crockery suits this stylish home.
A large comfortable leather sofa and armchair sit by the wood burner where you can curl up with a cup of cocoa and lose yourself in the panoramic views. And when the sun has set and there's nothing more to see, snuggle in front of the TV and watch a movie before bed.
A light filled corridor leads to the two bedrooms, one a super-king, the other a twin, where you'll find lovely calm spaces with luxurious soft linens and local art on the walls. Tuck yourself up and enjoy a peaceful night's rest.
In the morning you have the choice of a modern ensuite where you can enjoy an invigorating shower and admire the stunning sea views, or take a long soak in the big tub in the main bathroom, enjoy the bespoke toiletries and wrap yourself in a big fluffy towel.
Head into the kitchen and make a coffee with the Sage machine, slide open the expansive glazed doors and take a seat on the deck where you can contemplate the ever-changing sky and sea.
A little further along through the rushes and wild flowers, the landscape drops away to reveal the rocky shoreline where you'll find a fire pit, perfect for chilled evenings toasting marshmallows and star gazing.
Spend your days exploring the rocky coastlines and endless sandy beaches. Enjoy some wild swimming or book yourself on to a whale-watching boat trip to the uninhabited islands. And whilst North Uist is remote you'll find a few great places to enjoy a meal and a drink with others, such as The Westford Inn which serves fresh lobster and live music, and The Dunes Cabin where you can try a scallop and black pudding roll or some Hebridean smoked salmon alfresco on their picnic benches.
