Enjoy a marvellously unique stay in a superbly designed cabin in the rural splendour of the Scottish Highlands. The Fuselage was inspired by the principles of modern aerospace design and is a long cabin that resembles that of an airplane. Built using sustainably sourced wood and recycled aluminium, this is a comfy and cosy retreat that offers an eco-friendly break for couples or small families.
As you arrive, you’ll be blown away by the cabin’s location, sitting on a hillside overlooking Scotland’s rugged west coast from the Cuillin range on Skye, over Raasay and Applecross to the Torridon Alps in the distance.
When you step inside, the cabin will be arranged as a table with two bench seats sitting opposite one another and a separate seating area at the other end. You can drop your bags off, light the wood-burning fireplace and get toasty and warm as you make the most of your surroundings. When night falls, the dining area converts into a double bed, and the seating area into two bunk beds. The beds come with duvets and pillows filled with goose down or eco-friendly micro fibre filling, depending on your preference when booking.
Each guest enjoys the luxury of their own private shower and toilet facilities, located just a short stroll away. The modern washroom is equipped with a refreshing hot water shower, wash hand basin and a flushing toilet. For added comfort, there’s a high-powered air hand dryer and a generously sized heated towel rail. Exclusively for Fuselage guests, you'll find organic Highland Soap Co. products for hand and body wash, along with shampoo. Fresh towels are also provided for every guest, ensuring you have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
When it comes to meal times, head to your own private cabin called Cuill na Sith. This is a cosy spot exclusively for your use that’s equipped with all the essentials for whipping up some quick refreshments and a snack. Inside, you'll find basic crockery, cutlery, a small fridge and a microwave, perfect for preparing simple meals or drinks. Conveniently located nearby, yet separate from the main Fuselage, this space is designed for your ease and comfort.
Nestled in a tranquil spot, The Fuselage offers a unique opportunity to fully immerse yourself in nature. Surrounded by lush beauty, you’ll be serenaded by an array of birdlife throughout the year. From the call of owls to the cheerful chirps of finches and tits, to the swoop of raptors, there’s always something to delight the senses. Whether you’re an avid birdwatcher or simply seeking peace, this is the perfect place to reconnect with the natural world.
Venture further afield and visit Plockton, a picturesque fishing village on Loch Carron, that’s known for its charming craft shops, pubs and sailing opportunities. Nearby, Kyle of Lochalsh offers local walks, shops and stunning views, while Broadford, on the Isle of Skye, is a key service hub with supermarkets and the island's largest hospital.
The Cuillin Mountains provide breathtaking landscapes, and the Sleat Peninsula is renowned for its fertile land, dining spots and ferry to Mallaig.
