Monocoque Cabin is a quirky and supremely stylish off-grid cabin for two, tucked away in a peaceful slice of Shropshire countryside close to the picturesque market town of Market Drayton. From the outside, this sculpted home is a work of art, with its beautiful curved wooden walls and unique design. And when you arrive, you’ll be delighted with the lovely views, as you gaze down to the canal and watch boats passing by.

Stepping inside, the cosy cabin has a spacious, free-flowing layout. Ribbed walls and custom-built furniture combine with warm plywood finishes to create a sleek and stylish space that invites you to relax and unwind. There’s a quaint seating area at one end, with a hand-built sofa built into the wall and a nice raised bar with barstools offering a place to perch and look out the window as you tuck into your lunch. This end of the cabin also has the mini kitchen, equipped with a coffee maker, a mini fridge and a toaster.

As you make your way further down the cabin, you’ll find the charming bedroom area, with a comfy double bed sitting opposite a wonderful wood-burning fireplace. Throw some logs on the fire and enjoy a cosy night’s sleep before waking up and enjoying that first coffee of the day beneath the covers as you look out the window at the view. Monocoque Cabin also has a discreet bathroom that offers a hot shower and a straightforward composting toilet.

Designed and built with nature in mind, this marvellous cabin is completely off-grid and is heated by biofuel and electric heaters, ensuring you stay toasty and warm all year round.

Stepping outside you have a patio with some dining furniture for alfresco meals, and a private garden meaning you can spread out and unwind when the sun is shining. And thanks to your peaceful surroundings, relaxing in the fresh country air will be a breeze.

When it comes to exploring the local area, you have all that the beautiful Shropshire countryside has to offer. First up, a visit to the nearby market town of Market Drayton offers a delightful mix of history, charm and natural beauty. Known as the “home of gingerbread", this quaint Shropshire town boasts a lively market, independent shops and welcoming pubs.

Stroll along the Shropshire Union Canal, or explore the picturesque countryside dotted with rolling hills, serene walking trails and lovely heritage sites. And after a day hiking or biking in the local area, retire back to your cosy cabin for an evening in front of the fire.
