Located in the wild Yorkshire Dales on a farm characterised by rural peace and natural beauty, Little Seed Field Cabins is a collection of wooden cabins, all conceived and constructed with minimal ecological disruption in mind, and available to rent on a self-catered basis. The wonderful site is abundant in natural charm and the cabins are beautifully designed and make for the ultimate retreat for holidaymakers who like their nature un-tamed, their resources scavenged and their skies clear.
Each of the cabins has its own distinctive architectural feel, although they all share from the same pared back, charmingly simple design which emphasis good design, skilled craftsmanship and high-quality local materials. The spaces themselves are well lit, high-ceilinged and cosy, ideal for snuggling up in every weather and season, and drifting off after a long spay spent exploring the idylls of Yorkshire.
The cabins are eclectic in their style, layout and amenities, with only some boasting plumbed-in wet rooms. While the cabins are designed for sleeping and spending time in, the cooking facilities and full bathroom amenities are all housed in a central communal space which functions as a kitchen and shower-block-type area. As well as topping up your supplies from the natural spring which feeds the water, you can also make use of a toaster, microwave, kettle and washing up supplies.
The cabin-style pods are housed on a working dairy farm which has been sustainably managed for several generations, making it the perfect spot for curious and enthusiastic youngsters to learn about agriculture, environmentalism and husbandry. From the forests around you to the rushes and grasslands nearby, the farm is a hive of free and wild growth, and coming to spend time here allows you to feel at one with nature, and return to the peace, tranquility and majesty of the great outdoors.
As well as multiple courses and activities which can be undertaken on the farm, guests are encouraged to roam further afield, taking advantage of the trails, footpaths and cycling routes which snake all over the dales. Whether you're an experienced outdoors enthusiast, up to the most demanding and lengthy uphill hikes, or a city slicker slowly adjusting to the rigours of rural life, you're bound to find the walk which suits you. There are also excellent pubs in the wider region, many of which offer fantastic seasonal food as well as brilliant Yorkshire ales. The area is proud of its dark skies designation, and budding astronomers should make the trip to the nearby Lime Tree Observatory for a memorable lesson in stars and planetary movements.
