Set on a working farm on the edge of the North York Moors, Hare’s View is a unique underground holiday pod. Nestled into the hillside, camouflaged from most angles by the grass roof which blends into the surrounding landscape. The windows at the front of the pod offer stunning views over the Howardian and Hambleton Hills and you can lie back in bed and stargaze through the glass dome above. This romantic hideaway is perfectly located for exploring the North York Moors and after a long walk in the National Park you can enjoy a long soak in the hot tub back at Hare’s View.
Step inside and you’ll find an open-plan interior which stretches through to a separate bathroom at the back. Near the entrance, enjoying the natural light and those spectacular views, there’s a living area with a comfy sofa. This can be cleverly converted into a dining space with a table extension swivelling out from under the TV. Just a little further into the pod, there’s a well-equipped kitchen with an oven and a hob where you can rustle up simple meals for cosy evenings in.
The bedroom is beyond the kitchen, sectioned off informally so the space feels private, yet still enjoys the light from the windows. There’s a king-size bed, complete with luxurious bedding and a glass dome overhead so you can enjoy the night sky, free of light pollution. Just through from the bedroom you’ll find the ensuite bathroom with a shower and heated towel rail. Extra sleeping space can be created by converting the sofa into an additional double bed.
Outside, you’ll find your own private space where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife surrounding you on the farm. Hares sometimes make an appearance in the fields below and you’ll often see buzzards circling overhead. If you get up early enough, you might even see the deer grazing. There’s a table and chairs outside as well as a BBQ so you can enjoy cooking outside on sunny days. Or you can simply relax and take it all in from the comfort of the hot tub.
Hare’s View is ideally located for exploring the best of North Yorkshire. From long and spectacular walks through the North York Moors National Park to day trips to Whitby or Scarborough on the coast. The city of York is close by too and has plenty of independent shops and restaurants to discover as well as a fascinating history.
