If you’re looking for an idyllic and peaceful stay in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside then Cockshutt Cottage might just be the place for you. Sitting on a peaceful farm, with a flower garden on one side and rolling verdant hills on the other, this delightful Cotswolds cottage offers you the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The converted Cotswold stone animal shelter is now a cottage that sleeps up to four guests. When you arrive you’ll be able to get comfy and cosy in the charming open plan living area. Here you’ll find a beautiful farmhouse kitchen where you can prepare delicious meals made using fantastic local produce. In the centre of the kitchen is a rustic dining table that will comfortably seat four, making lovely social dinners a breeze. However, if the sun is shining outside, there’s also an alfresco dining area, should you wish to enjoy meals in the fresh country air. To the east of the property is a patio where you can catch the morning sunshine, and to the south is a lawned garden with a prolific cherry tree.
Back inside, the living space also features a cosy lounge area, with big comfy sofas sitting around a working fireplace. Warm your toes by the flames as you enjoy an evening tipple and chat long into the night.
When night falls, the two lovely bedrooms guarantee a peaceful night's sleep. One offers a comfy king size bed and the other has a pair of twin beds, providing plenty of flexibility for different groups. Both bedrooms offer lovely views of the surrounding countryside and share a quaint family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower as well as a basin and a WC.
When it comes to filling your days you can strike out and explore the beautiful Gloucestershire Cotswolds. This region offers a journey into quintessential English charm. Rolling hills, honey-coloured stone villages and historic market towns like Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold captivate visitors.
Stroll through picturesque countryside trails, explore ancient churches and browse local artisan shops. Discover attractions like Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe or the Roman heritage of Cirencester. Indulge in hearty pub meals or traditional cream teas in cosy settings. With its timeless beauty and warm hospitality, the Cotswolds offers a serene escape for all.
