Nestled on the quiet pastures of the Chateau de Memanat estate in France, suspended four metres over the ground between two ancient sequoia trees is the treehouse, a stunning wooden getaway available on a self-catered basis for two parents and two kids. Replete with everything you need for a truly unforgettable escape to Memanat, the Treehouse is a once-in-a-lifetime cabin in the canopies which will you’re bound to adore.
Inside this architecturally extraordinary timber treehouse, the main space benefits from expansive views out over the valley, with donkeys and horses peacefully grazing all around. The treehouse even has a sunken hot-tub, the perfect space to end each day, with a glass of wine and staggering views of the Memanat Estate and beyond.
Inside, no expense has been spared and no detail overlooked in this property, which was designed and constructed right here by master craftsmen using a variety of local hardwoods. In the bathroom, two deep stone sinks compliment the walk-in tiled shower, with excellent water pressure despite the height. The master bedroom is beautifully designed and benefits from an excellent vista, as well as an ultra-comfortable king sized bed and even a chandelier for an added note of decadence. The second bedroom is designed with children in mind, containing two single beds and located in one of the turrets, accessed via a ladder.
Everything about this space had been tastefully, expertly, and judiciously designed and executed. From the dining table, a slab of local oak tree, to the kitchen with its modern oven, dishwasher, sink, hob and coffee machine, there are no compromises or overlooked details to be found in this treetop paradise. Electric central heating and air conditioning ensure that you’ll be comfortable regardless of the season, while a barbecue and substantial dining deck give you the option of cooking and eating al fresco in the warmer months, however, the barbecue is not available during the winter.
This is the sort of accommodation where you really will struggle to leave home base, seduced by the gentle swaying of the trees, the pleasing design of your Treehouse, and the gentle tranquillity of the countryside. That said, within close proximity are multiple diverting activities, from the nearby bison safari park to the well-preserved tapestry weaving house dating back to the 15th Century. The disused former railway track, which can be cycled along with a purpose-built contraption, offers a family-friendly day out. You're bound to love the stunning nearby lake, the largest in the Limousin, or alternatively, remain on the estate and try your hand at fishing, cycling, hiking and swimming.
