Not far from the endless swathes of golden sand and blue Atlantic waters, Casa Da Vigia sits in a secluded spot and is ideal for an unforgettably romantic break. Guests arrive at the Casa along a sandy driveway which cuts through the 514 hectares of fragrant pines that surround this modern, luxurious wooden deck house. Raised above the ground, to maximise the magnificent views across the treetops, with a terrace wrapping around the outside, this cool, minimalist studio impresses from the get-go.
Timbers clad the exterior and are interrupted by floor to ceiling windows which ensure full advantage can be taken of the lovely vista. The brilliant Portuguese light floods the interior and bounces off the white walls giving the studio a cool, relaxing atmosphere. The space is open plan and the minimalist design has been incorporated throughout the interior. Furnishings and fittings are white, from the deep comfortable sofas to occasional chairs and kitchen cupboards and doors.
The sitting area looks directly out through glass ceiling-height sliding doors that open up onto the decked outside area. Out here is the gorgeous infinity pool where guests will no doubt spend most of their holiday. Wooden loungers with soft waterproof cushions are begging for guests to lie back with a drink and a good book and enjoy the best of the morning sun, taking intermittent dips in the beautiful pool to cool off.
When the sun climbs to the highest point in the day, head inside for lunch, there is a well-equipped kitchenette great for making salads and mixing drinks. After lunch, pull back the linen curtain to the bedroom area where a king sized bed can be found for refreshing siestas and a deep night's sleep. And for freshening up before an afternoon on the beach, there is a luxurious bathroom with double sinks and a powerful shower.
The Casa is situated in the Comporta region of Portugal, which is known for it stunning beaches. Guests will love spending days on the beach where they will also find plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. Favourites include Sal Restaurante at Pego Beach, O Dinis Restaurante dos Pescadores at Carvalhal Beach, the best for Clams, and Comporta Café at Comporta Beach - where visitors swing in hammocks watching the sunset while sipping Negronis.

Leave a reviewCasa da Vigia was an absolute treat from start to finish. The design, location, comfort, privacy and proximity to nature offered us the rest and relaxation we were seeking. The host, Isabel, is extremely helpful and friendly and has ensured that the Casa is very well equipped and a real home from home. It was a nice touch to have beach towels provided and plenty of storage - so often overlooked in similarly designed properties. The sunsets are spectacular as is the infinity pool. We were also very pleased to have a MASSIVE Bluetooth speaker provided and binoculars and bird books. Casa da Vigia is remote enough for seclusion but near enough to take full advantage of the local beaches and culture. Many thanks.
