Tucked away in the scenic Easedale Valley, this beautiful 16th century building offers a peaceful getaway for friends and family looking to discover the Lake District. Wake up to stunning views over the surrounding fields and the fells beyond and you’ll get the itch to get out and explore. Some of the best walks in the area can be accessed right from the front door, so you’ll be able to lace up your boots and head out. Be sure to head straight to Easedale Tarn, to the famous peaks of Helm Crag and Silver How, or simply wander through the charming village of Grasmere, just a short stroll away. After a day’s adventures, head back to the house to put your feet up in front of the log burner in the living room, or wander out into the lovely gardens where you can enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets over the Lakeland fells.
The house has recently been refurbished to create a contemporary feel while preserving its rustic charm. You’ll be drawn through to the light-filled living room with its high ceilings and enormous windows on one side providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Snuggle up on the big comfy sofas or lend a hand with the cooking in the modern kitchen, featuring beautiful worktops made of local slate. You’ll find everything you’ll need to whip up all the family favourites or perhaps prepare a picnic for a day’s walking. A ground source heat pump gently heats the stone floors throughout the ground floor of the house, keeping you toasty whatever the weather outside.
There are three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The first of these, you’ll find on the ground floor with a luxurious king size bed. The main bedroom is located upstairs on the first floor with another king size bed set beneath a vaulted ceiling and beautiful oak beams. The final bedroom can be set up with a super-king size bed or with two single beds, offering a bit of flexibility for groups. The main bedroom has an ensuite and there’s an additional family bathroom with a large bath set below a skylight. This is the perfect spot to relax after a long walk, gazing up at the clouds passing by or perhaps doing a bit of stargazing in the evenings.
The house is located in the heart of the Lake District, making it the perfect base for exploring. Start with the hike to Easedale Tarn and walk around the water, taking in the stunning mountain scenery. If you fancy getting up into the fells, there are challenging hikes up to Helm Crag and Silver How that reward you with panoramic views over the valley. It’s also just a 25-minute walk to Grasmere, a charming Lakeland village where you can stock up on the famous gingerbread or enjoy a meal in one of the cosy pubs.
