This stylish holiday home is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the beautiful Corsica whilst enjoying a relaxing break from day to day life. This charming guesthouse is a former family vineyard and sits 3km from the centre of the historical town of Calvi, offering four contemporary rooms to rent for a relaxing holiday in Corsica. A Muredda is a 20-25 min walk from the centre and is one km from the main beach.
With the mountains on one side and the beach on the other, this property is perfectly located for a trip to remember. Sleeping up to eight guests, each room has its own unique style and design. U Lio is named after the lion’s head that adorns the fountain in Calvi’s Marshall Place. A Marina refers to the lower part of the town that borders the Mediterranean Sea, while Callelu takes its name from the old fishing district. Finally, Pardina is named after the section of the town that connects the harbour to the esplanade.
All four bedrooms are luxuriously decorated and lean towards natural tints and raw materials that merges wellbeing, comfort, and creativity. Each room is air conditioned and has a queen size bed, TV, WiFi, and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and WC. A Muredda consists of two buildings placed in two U-shapes and the rooms also have access to their own private terrace with outdoor seating.
In the middle of the site is the heated pool, surrounded by loungers and tables and chairs so guests can take in the glorious Corsican sunshine. For those who want a local drink or snack as they sit around the pool or on their terrace, gourmet platters of meat and/or cheese are available, as are ice creams or sorbets from Jose Salge. A continental breakfast is also included as part of the price and includes homemade pastries, fresh fruit, and artisan jams.
Located in the north-west of the island in the region of Balagne, the area is known as the ‘garden of Corsica’. Calvi itself perfectly blends its medieval history with modern luxury, with the Genoese citadel overlooking the marina lined with restaurants and a sandy beach. For the more adventurous diving and water sports are available. On the other side are the snow-capped mountains dotted with pretty villages. There are plenty of opportunities for horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, and 4x4 excursions.
