Escape to rural Oxfordshire and enjoy a stay in a luxurious guest house on the high street in Goring-on-Thames. Enjoy the charm of a traditional cosy pub with great food, but with a stylish twist.
There are four different types of room to choose from to suit all needs. Each one is individually designed and furnished, subtly blending old with new. The standard double room can either be occupied by one person or two, while the superior double room offers that little bit extra, including a larger bed, and can also accommodate a child if required. For those that need more space, the luxury suite has an extra large double bed and a separate single bed.
Every room has a flat screen TV and WiFi throughout, as well as a marble en-suite bathroom with a high pressure shower or bath, with luxurious toiletries provided. There is also tea and coffee making facilities, with chocolate or cookies to accompany it.
Breakfast is included and can be served in the room or at the informal restaurant on the ground floor of the Miller of Mansfield. This overlooks the garden - which has outdoor furniture to be enjoyed by those staying - and serves a modern British menu using local produce. Real ales and fine wines are available at the bar as well.
The guest house is surrounded by natural beauty and there is plenty to do within a short distance of the front door. Take a stroll up Lardon Chase and enjoy the stunning views across the river to Goring and the Chilterns beyond. Hartslock Nature Reserve is also worth a visit, while the Thames Path starting at Goring Lock is a two-and-a-half mile trail which leads all the way to the Brunel railway bridge at Gatehampton.
For history lovers the castles of Wallingford and Highclere are both close by, as are Notley Abbey and Cliveden House. While the Miller of Mansfield is surrounded by countryside, the hustle and bustle of Reading is less than 10 miles away. Here there is an array of shops, bars, and restaurants, as well at the well renowned Reading Museum - home of the Bayeux Tapestry.
