Set on the edge of the pretty village of Long Sutton in the Somerset Levels, The Pictureworks is a contemporary loft-style building with plenty of space for large groups to relax and enjoy the countryside together. The huge single story cedar-clad building was once a picture framing workshop and you’ll find pieces of custom artwork throughout the interior. It’s been expertly converted into accommodation for groups of up to 16 guests and has access to two heated pools and its own private spa, making it the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle.
The interior has a spacious and open feel to it with living areas large enough for everyone to put their feet up together on the sofas or gather around the dining table and tuck into dinner. Huge bifold doors open out onto the patio, letting in plenty of natural light and allowing you to extend your living space even more on warmer days. If you're feeling competitive, you can get a pool or table football tournament going or enjoy a game of croquet out on the lawn. However, if it's downtime you're after, you might prefer to relax in the hot tub, sauna, steam room or by your own private heated pool. You’ll also have access to a shared pool which is slightly larger and set in a walled garden.
There are six bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and these can be set up with the configuration of single and super-king size beds that best suits your group, offering plenty of flexibility. The main bedroom has its own set of bifold doors looking out onto the orchard and has a little seating area just outside, perfect for a quiet coffee in the morning as you listen to the birds or a cocktail in the evening.
There are some lovely views from the house, which faces open countryside and there are several footpaths which mean you can explore right from the front door. Be sure to stroll into the village of Long Sutton with its beautiful Blue Lias stone houses, village green and friendly pub. Venture a little further to the small historic town of Langport, which is set on the banks of the River Parrett and offers swimming and paddleboarding opportunities. Glastonbury is just 20 minutes away with its Abbey and stunning views of the rolling Somerset countryside if you head up to the Tor. There are also plenty of cider farms in the area where you can learn about the process of growing and pressing apples and try the different varieties.
