The Lighthouse, Gairloch sits easily in the Highland landscape, enclosed in private woodland and gardens on the headland, offering spectacular views and luxurious accommodation. Designed by award-winning architects to make the absolute most of its beautiful surroundings, the house boasts uninterrupted views South across the sea to the Torridon Mountains.

Cleverly arranged, the living and social hub of the property is unusually on the first floor so that those staying can truly enjoy their breathtaking surroundings. On this level the open-plan living room has huge windows looking South across the sea to the unspoilt hills and mountains, with a comfy sofa and wood burning stove, as well as a dining table and chairs seating up to eight people. Alternatively, guests can dine on the elevated outside deck and south-facing balcony. Also on this floor is the stylish and fully equipped Italian kitchen, along with a family bathroom with shower and skylight over the bath. Behind the living room is a warm oak-panelled study/sitting room with a huge antique map of the area, in which you can plan your exploration, read or watch television

Sleeping up to seven people, guests make their way down the handmade oak staircase to the sleeping quarters. All four bedrooms still have views of the sea, mountains, and garden, with the master bedroom also having an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, and large picture windows to take it all in. There is a further king size bedroom, as well as a single and a twin or super king depending on what is required. Also on this level is a further shower room.

Located in Gairloch on the Wester Ross coast and opposite the Isle of Skye, The Lighthouse is in one of the most scenic parts of Scotland. This unspoilt gem is full of things to explore right on the doorstep, with beaches, mountains, and hundreds of miles of Highlands to discover. For those who seek a little more adrenaline, there are opportunities for mountain biking and kayaking, as well as sea and fly fishing, sailing, and golf. Animal lovers should seize the chance to go whale watching, pony trekking, or falconry.

From the house, guests can also walk over to the Flowerdale estate, where they can visit the arboretum or stroll up to the dramatic waterfall. The famous gardens of Inverewe are only a short drive away as well.

The Lighthouse is beautifully designed and perfectly situated with views of the mountains and the harbour. We thoroughly enjoyed watching all different kinds of weather skate across the beautiful wide windows. The house is immaculately kept and stylishly furnished with a kitchen which is a chef's dream, a boot room and laundry room ideal for families and outdoor pursuits fans. A really special place.

We had a lovely holiday at the lighthouse with our friends. The location is stunning and the attention to detail in the house second to none. The weather did not permit us to make full use of the balcony and decking but as The Lighthouse is so comfortable it was a joy to play games inside looking out!

The Lighthouse in Gairloch is a beautifully designed, located and equipped house. It is a serene and tranquil environment to stay in and yet there are places to eat, drink and walk to very close by. The short walk to the beach being an example. Every aspect of the environment has been so well thought through and made it a joy to stay there. We stayed with friends on our driving trip of the North Coast 500. We all agreed that we definitely saved the best till last by driving East to West and staying at Gairloch to drive the final sections of the stunning West Scotland landscape.

This is the perfect Highlands getaway. We had a great holiday, with a perfect combination of walks and relaxing in the house. The hosts have thought of absolutely everything. The views from the living room are amazing and one of our favourite pass times would be to watch the ever changing sky! We were advised in advance that not much would be open in December, so we opted for home cooking and the kitchen was an absolute joy to cook in. I can highly recommend The Lighthouse and look forward to visiting again.

Fabulous house, ever changing panoramic views, half way between pier and golf course, what more could we ask for?

We stayed in May half term with our 2 teenage boys. This really is an exceptional property both in terms of location and quality accommodation. The house is designed perfectly to make the most of the views of the sea and mountains. A considerable amount of thought has gone into the layout and really high quality finishes and furniture. We had a great time on the nearby beautiful beach (5 mins walk), sea kayaking, bike rides on the quiet roads and hauled ourselves up one of the Munros you can see from the house. But even without those activities it was a pleasure just to spend time relaxing in the house. The communication from the owner was first class. Thoroughly recommended.
